ECFC forced to borrow from PFA

Exeter City Football Club statement:

"As we are all aware, Exeter City AFC Ltd is not owned and funded by any one individual and this means that finances are always stretched and 2013/14 was no different.

"However, we have also been adversely affected by match attendances being below expectations and a lower than anticipated uptake of season ticket renewals so the finances in the close season have been under pressure.

"As a result, the Club received a short-term, temporary loan from the PFA on Monday 2nd June."

SWH’s Richard Trump, Works Manager, was recently tasked with putting together ten of SWH’s finest football players in support of Prostate Cancer UK.

A few of the team members hadn’t played football for quite some time, so it was all about dusting off old football boots, proving you’re never too old (or unfit!) to grace the turf and getting stuck in for a fantastic cause.

Once the players were chosen they set out to take part in a 6- A- Side Football Tournament at St James Park, Home of Exeter City on Sunday 27th April. The team, named South West Highways Ltd, were made up...

The 20-year-old Cornishman was this week handed his big chance by England coach Stuart Lancaster when he was named among a 30-man squad who will head to the Southern Hemisphere to tackle the formidable All Blacks.

Joined by club colleague Tom Johnson on the trip, the talented hooker has enjoyed a stellar 12 months with club and country and now aims to top it...

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter believes new signing Ryan Caldwell is "raring to go" after adding the Irishman to the playing ranks at Sandy Park. The 29-year-old Irish international, who has agreed a two-year deal, is Baxter's fifth summer recruit so far having already added Thomas Waldrom, Moray Low, Mitch Lees and Tomas Francis to his playing roster for the 2014/15 season. Caldwell's arrival in Devon will offer a welcome boost to his new coach, who this season alone has lost locks Tom Hayes and James Hanks to retirement and Romana Graham to French club side La Rochelle. The main part of the £.5m works being carried out this summer will see the existing West Grandstand undergo a £7.5 million transformation, doubling its capacity for usage on both...
