Exeter Racecourse has launched a brand-new Community Raceday and is inviting people across Devon to nominate a community hero who deserves recognition.

Community Raceday takes place on Friday, February 20, during half term, and coincides with Devon Day at the racecourse. The initiative celebrates the people who make a real difference in their communities – from volunteers and carers to sports coaches, fundraisers and quiet grafters who go above and beyond.

Every nominee will receive a free ticket to Exeter Racecourse, and one overall winner will be treated to a Family...

Baxter’s joy at Nowell deal

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has spoken of his delight after Jack Nowell became the latest Exeter Chiefs player to commit his future to the Aviva Premiership club.

England international Nowell has today agreed terms on a new and improved contract that will keep him at Sandy Park until 2017.

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter believes new signing Ryan Caldwell is "raring to go" after adding the Irishman to the playing ranks at Sandy Park. Contractors have stripped the pitch down to the foundations as they prepare to lay a new hi-tech DESSO Grassmaster hybrid playing surface costing about £1m.

Success in Switzerland for Honiton Gymnasts

Gymnasts from Honiton Gymnastics Club further boosted the club’s international reputation last week when they competed at the Swiss Acro Cup in Winterthur, Switzerland.

The 16 talented acrobatics, aged eight to 18, competed against gymnasts from countries including Poland, Belarus, Germany, Hungary and Switzerland, putting in fine performances and bringing back two golds and one bronze medal.
