Chiefs Women bid farewell to outgoing players

Exeter Chiefs Women will bid farewell to seven players at the end of the 2025/26 season.

Among those confirmed so far will be Canadian hooker and crowd favourite Emily Tuttosi who is heading back to Canada to take on a coaching role. The 30-year-old joined Chiefs in their inaugural season. She has played 88 games for the club and scored 31 tries.

Tuttosi will be joined on the leavers’ list by former Ireland captain Edel ‘Tricky’ McMahon, who has been with the club since 2022. Operations to both knees have meant the flanker has not been able take part in the 2025/26...

Exeter City 1 Burton Albion 1: Match report

Exeter City and Burton Albion played out a 1-1 draw at St James Park, with both goals coming after the break.

Jacob Blyth was Burton’s goalscorer on the hour-mark – and it looked like it was going to be enough until Christian Ribeiro headed in City’s equaliser with less than five minutes on the clock.

The result kept up Exeter’s record of being the only Football League team to have scored and conceded in all of their home games in the league to date this season.

And while it didn’t earn Exeter a place amongst the play-off places, it represented a decent point...

Baxter salutes European win

Rob Baxter hailed his side’s European Challenge Cup victory over La Rochelle as a “thoroughly professional performance” as the Exeter Chiefs reaffirmed their position at the top of Pool Two.

Not since their maiden European campaign in 2010 - against Bourgoin - had the Chiefs secured victory on French soil.

Six consecutive defeats across the Channel followed for Baxter’s troops, but they underlined their blossoming credentials with a powerful display at the Stade Marcel Deflandre.

Tries from Tom James, Brett Sturgess, Byron McGuigan and Fetu’u Vainikolo were among...

La Rochelle 10 Chiefs 36

Exeter Chiefs maintained pole position in Pool Two of this season’s European Challenge Cup with only their second-ever victory on French soil.

Not since 2010 when they triumphed on their first outing across the Channel to Bourgoin have Rob Baxter’s men toasted success against a Top14 side.

In La Rochelle, though, the Chiefs served up a Christmas cracker for their supporters as tries from Tom James, Brett Sturgess (pictured) Byron McGuigan and Fetu’u Vainikolo, together with 16 points from the boot of Gareth Steenson sealed a memorable win...

Baxter hails Steenson's contribution

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has praised the contribution Gareth Steenson has played in helping the Devon club establish themselves as a force within the English game.

Welcoming the news the Irish fly-half has this week agreed terms on a new three-year deal that will keep him at Sandy Park until 2018, Baxter wasted little time in reflecting on the contribution put in by the Dungannon-born back.

“There’s no magic ingredient,” said Baxter. “Steeno has improved over a period because his gained more and more experience in the Premiership and in Europe and those...

Steenson agrees new Chiefs deal

Gareth Steenson says he is is looking forward to an exciting future ahead after today committing himself to Aviva Premiership club Exeter Chiefs for a further three years.

Just a week after team-mate Phil Dollman confirmed he was staying at Sandy Park, 30-year-old Steenson is the latest member of Rob Baxter’s squad to confirm he will be prolonging his stay at Sandy Park.

Steenson, who joined the Devon club in 2008 from the Cornish Pirates, has already written his name into Exeter folklore with his on-field achievements which, to date, have seen him amass a staggering 1,565...

Bumper Bicton cross-country event

Cross-country runners from across the South West will be converging upon Bicton College for the England Athletics Cross Country Championships 2015. The event has been getting bigger every year and therefore finding an appropriate venue for so many runners and their families has been a challenge for organizers South West Athletics Academy.

“We always want to ensure an outstanding day of competition for south west runners” said event director Sonya Ellis. “Getting the right balance of on site facilities, a stunning venue and a suitably demanding course is always a tricky dilemma, but...

Chiefs side to face La Rochelle

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter believes tonight's European Challenge Cup encounter at La Rochelle could prove to be a “defining game” in Pool Two of this year’s competition.

Sitting top after the opening two rounds, the Chiefs will be looking to record only their second-ever victory on French soil when they tackle Patrice Collazo’s side at the Stade Marcel Deflandre.

Buoyed by an impressive run of recent results, which has included Premiership wins against Northampton Saints, Wasps and Saracens in as many weeks, Devon’s finest will be hoping for more of the same...

Match report: Chiefs 27 Saracens 19

Gareth Steenson equalled the record for most penalties in an Aviva Premiership match as he kicked Exeter Chiefs to a significant victory over Saracens at Sandy Park.

The Irishman produced an unblemished nine from nine to further underline the top four credentials of Rob Baxter’s side, who in recent weeks have also toppled defending champions Northampton Saints and Wasps. Saracens countered with a late converted try from Maro Itoje and four penalties from Charlie Hodgson, but it was scant reward in a game in which the Chiefs ruled the...

Chiefs side to face Saracens

Rob Baxter has called on his Exeter Chiefs side to fight “tooth and nail” to keep themselves firmly in the mix at the top end of this year’s Aviva Premiership.

The in-form Chiefs currently sit second in the standings after defending champions Northampton Saints reclaimed pole position with their victory at Saracens last Sunday.

For Baxter, though, seeing his team perched well within the top four is hugely rewarding after what has been an impressive campaign to date for the Devon club.

Not only are the Chiefs flying high in the league, but they top both their LV= and...

Exeter City Win Again!

Match report: Accrington 2 Exeter City 3

Exeter City earned three points in a pulsating game at the Crown Ground, triumphing 3-2 at Accrington Stanley.

Goals a few minutes either side of half-time from Liam Sercombe and Tom Nichols got City into a commanding position, but a strike from distance by John O’Sullivan halved the deficit.

Matt Grimes curled in a free-kick before sub Seamus McCartan quickly pulled another back, to set up a grandstand finish.

But Exeter held on to move within goal difference of the play-off places.

Forward Alex Nicholls got...
