The award allows Higgins to carry a badge of honour that shows a notable turning point in what seemed like a silently ascending career.

Higgins joined the Exeter City club from West Bromwich for a season-long loan in September...

Football is undoubtedly the most popular sport on Earth. The reasons why this is so are many. But a few of the most commonly discussed ones include the low barrier to entry, tribal loyalties, thrilling gameplay, and cross-country club and national team competitions. Going by the latest stats, around 40% of people on the planet older than the age of sixteen follow the sport or consider themselves very interested in it. Hence, no other activity can post these kinds of numbers, and the English Premier League reigns supreme in the club-level competition realm, as it gets broadcast to more...

Brentford will be looking to consolidate their impressive start to the season with a first home win of 2023/24 against AFC Bournemouth.

Brentford hope they will still be unbeaten by the time they face Andoni Iraola’s side in the new Premier League season as they try to kick on to bigger things this term.

This used to be a bonafide lower-division fixture up until last season following the Cherries’ promotion back to the top flight. Notably, their battles in the 2020/21 EFL Championship Playoff semi-finals are a historic piece in Brentford’s journey to becoming one of the...

Aston Villa vs Everton preview, team news, tickets and prediction

Aston Villa vs Everton will be a game that will see no-holds-barred action from both teams thanks to how their opening day fixtures went.

It will be especially important for Aston Villa who suffered a heavy loss to Newcastle United on opening day. The 5-1 scoreline of that game was the biggest margin on opening day. Villa fans – and many neutrals – were stunned at the outcome of the match which was billed to be a close battle with the Magpies.

That embarrassment will spur them to take to Villa Park for their first home game of the season against Everton and put on a show...
