Georgian Youngster Tchumbadze Becomes a Chief

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

“I’m well aware of the crucial role that forwards play in the team’s system, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Premiership.”

The new-look Devon Youth Games has been declared a resounding success with hundreds of young people taking part in a range of sports on one day.

An estimated 1,000 young people took part in the day of sporting action on Sunday 12 July, organised by Teignbridge District Council and Torbay Council and sponsored by the Rotary in the South West Peninsula.

Golfers lined up in the bright sunshine to take part in Exeter’s popular Marnie Burgoyne Memorial Golf Day.

Nearly 50 teams enjoyed a great day out and raised cash for us. The Exeter tournament is sponsored by John Burgoyne, who runs Burgoynes Estate Agents and the trophy is presented in memory of his mum, Marnie Burgoyne, who was one of the original Hospiscare fundraising committee members.

Horse trials action returns to Bicton Arena on Saturday, July 11 and Sunday, July 12 when classes ranging from a BE80 training class to BE100Plus will be staged.

The competition has been specifically framed to encourage grass roots riders, those climbing through the ranks and professional riders with young or inexperienced horses.
