Every nominee will receive a free ticket to Exeter Racecourse, and one overall winner will be treated to a Family...

Exeter City beaten at home

FIRST-HALF GOALS from Wimbledon’s Tom Elliot and Lyle Taylor handed Exeter City their third successive league defeat.

City’s Paul Tisdale made one change to the starting eleven who fell to a 3-0 defeat at Oxford, with Lee Holmes coming in for Ollie Watkins out wide. As for Wimbledon, Neil Ardley made a host of changes, but included defender Paul Robinson, whose red card at the weekend was overturned on a successful appeal.

It was City who created the first opening of the game when good interplay between Holmes and Woodman resulted in the latter striking a powerful right-...

There was no Christmas Day hangover for Rob Baxter’s Exeter Chiefs side as they maintained their lofty status in the Aviva Premiership with victory over visiting Sale Sharks.

With little to choose between either side at the break, the Devon club cranked through the gears during the second half to notch up their sixth win in seven league starts.

And as Baxter readied his troops for their latest league battle, the Chiefs head coach was in upbeat mood as he looked ahead to the Boxing Day match-up.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back into the...

Liam Sercombe, the former St James Park favourite, started for the hosts after having got ten goals for the U's already this season since switching Exeter for Oxford in the summer.

The match was just moments old when Jamie Reid pounced on a loose ball, taking a touch before his...
