From St James Park to the Euros: Tracking Exeter City Academy Players on the International Stage

As Europe’s biggest stars regroup for international duty, national team rosters for Euro 2024 are filled with familiar names - few of which trace their beginnings to the lower tiers of English football.

Exeter City’s academy may not make headlines, but its graduates are making tournament squads. And while attention builds toward summer fixtures and early Champions League predictions on many of the most popular and secure betting platforms, another narrative deserves recognition: players who started at St James Park and are now representing their countries on the international...

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has spoken of his delight after adding his second new addition to his playing squad for the 2016/17 season.

Having already recruited experienced Australian international prop Greg Holmes from the Queensland Reds, Bath playmaker Ollie Devoto is the latest to put pen to paper on a three-year deal with the Aviva Premiership club.

The 22-year-old will head to Sandy Park from local rivals Bath, whom he has played for since joining their Academy in the 2012/13 season.

Since then, the Yeovil-born back has quietly established himself as a...

The BBC commentators both took rides with city firm Apple Central Taxis which is donating 20p to Exeter Hospiscare for each taxi booking that it receives from any Exeter city or district hotel.

“We took both Ian and Alan to and from the Southgate Hotel during the evening and to the railway station in the morning, so together they donated a total of £1.20 to Exeter Hospiscare!” said Steve Screech, general...

Six-Race Card Set To Test Heavy Going

Baxter updates on injury front

Jack Nowell’s knee injury will not require surgery and is not as bad as first feared, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has revealed.

But that news has been offset by the revelation that lock Mitch Lees is set for around four months on the sidelines after an operation on his injured arm on Monday.

England back Nowell, 22, hobbled off in some pain with eight minutes left in Saturday’s 19-10 win over Gloucester, having badly twisted his knee in a tackle. He is unlikely to train this week.

Lees, who had been tipped for a spot in Eddie Jones’ England squad to be...

Exeter City earn a point!

City battle for a point at the Globe Arena

A DEBUT goal from Jayden Stockley salvaged a point for Exeter City at a rain-sodden Globe Arena.

Exactly a month after the match-up between the two sides was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch, the home side took the lead from the spot just four minutes after play had resumed for the second half. But it wasn’t to be for Morecambe, as Stockley’s side-footed volley found the top-corner.

Exeter made five changes to the side that earned a draw against Liverpool during their FA Cup heroics last Friday night, including a debut...
