Curtain falls on Ladies Night at Exeter Racecourse

The curtain came down on Ladies Night at Exeter Racecourse on Friday evening, with a strong crowd enjoying the final fixture of the 2025/26 season in style.

A lively atmosphere and plenty of laughter set the tone as guests gathered for a fun-filled event. Sam Binney, visiting from Southampton on a hen do, was announced as the winner.

“This is really unexpected, and I’m actually quite shocked, if I’m honest. I was really worried about today, but I think it’s worked out well. I’m really excited,” she said.

Second place went to Jodie Hart, from Whiddon Down, while...

Baxter calm after defeat

Never one to get carried away in victory or defeat, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter remained level-headed after seeing his side slip to a second successive Aviva Premiership defeat.

Sale Sharks maintained their unbeaten home record this season by inflicting a 23-17 loss on their rivals from Devon at the AJ Bell Stadium.

Johnny Leota, Nev Edwards and Mike Haley all crossed for first half tries as the Sharks stormed into a 17-0 lead at the break. The Chiefs, however, were much improved after the interval and countered with converted scores of their own through Jack...

Sale Sharks 23 Exeter Chiefs 17

Sale Sharks whipped up their own on-field version of ’Storm Imogen’ to wreak havoc on the high-flying hopes of Exeter Chiefs in the Aviva Premiership.

Undone on home soil by league leaders Saracens the week previous, Rob Baxter’s side crashed to a second successive league defeat as the Sharks delivered a telling first half bite that the Chiefs never really recovered from.

Johnny Leota, Nev Edwards and Mike Haley all crossed for tries during the opening 40 minutes for Steve Diamond’s side – and fly-half Danny Cipriani did the rest of the damage as he slotted a conversion and...

Exeter City beaten at Adams Park

A WONDER GOAL from Wycombe Wanderers midfielder Stephen McGinn eight minutes after the half-time break proved the difference between the two sides as Exeter City’s run of Sky Bet League 2 victories came to an end at Adams Park. In a hard-fought contest City had chances to take the lead in the first-half. But the Chairboys flew out of the traps after the half-time interval – McGinn popping up with the decisive stroke in the fifty-third minute. Paul Tisdale made three changes to the side that came away from Hartlepool victorious a fortnight ago, with David Wheeler handed a start for the...

Chiefs side to face Sale Sharks

Rob Baxter insists his Exeter Chiefs cannot wait to get back into Aviva Premiership action following two weeks of battle in the European Champions Cup.

In what was a mixed fortnight for Devon’s finest against French rivals ASM Clermont Auvergne, this Saturday it’s Sale Sharks who provide the opposition at Sandy Park (3pm) in Exeter’s final game of 2015.

And as Baxter readied his troops for their latest league battle, the Chiefs head coach was in upbeat mood as he looked ahead to the Boxing Day match-up.

“We’re really looking forward to getting back into the...

Injury woes start to ease for Chiefs

Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter has today given a positive outlook on the club’s walking wounded during his weekly media briefing held at Sandy Park.

Having been without a number of frontline stars in recent weeks due to long-term injuries, it appears things are brightening up for the Devon club.

Hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie marked his return to first team action following a broken thumb at Worcester a fortnight ago, while the sight of Dave Ewers and Henry Slade both out and about in training this week is equally encouraging.

Meanwhile, locks Damian Welch and Mitch...
