The newly unveiled trophy arrived at Exeter Cathedral, where it was welcomed by Sarah Massey, Managing Director of Women’s Rugby World Cup 2025, and a host of Exeter Chiefs stars, including England international Flo Robinson, her sister and fellow Chief Emily Robinson, and teammates Katie Buchanan and Lucy Nye.

32% of Britons made a New Year resolution in 2016 with 33% of respondents wanted to get fitter, and it looks like the same trend will continue for 2017. However, for young people with disabilities, it’s not as simple as buying some new trainers or a budget gym subscription; buying a specialist sport wheelchair can cost as much as £5,000.

Wooden Spoon the children’s charity of rugby, is leading a national campaign – Supporting Tomorrow’s Superstars. The national children’s charity aims to raise enough money to buy a rugby wheelchair for every wheelchair rugby club in the UK and...

Chiefs get the New Year party started

In a year packed full of sparkle, Exeter Chiefs perhaps saved their shining moment for the final day of 2016.

Seemingly down and out in a full-blooded Westcountry derby with rivals Bath, two late tries from James Short enabled Rob Baxter’s side to celebrate a first-ever victory in the ancient Roman City.

Sure, Devon’s finest had triumphed at the Rec in the old LV= Cup, but never before had they had they won when it came to league matters. This was the perfect way to start the New Year’s Eve party.

Bossed for the opening hour of this match, the Chiefs trailed 11-0 at...

Chiefs side to face Bath

Having positioned themselves back amongst the top four in the Aviva Premiership, Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter says it’s imperative his side now fight “tooth and nail” to remain there.

The Chiefs leapfrogged Leicester Tigers into fourth spot on Christmas Eve by recording a maximum haul in their 31-10 victory over the Midlanders at a packed out Sandy Park.

Now, Baxter’s troops are readying themselves for their next battle, this time against local rivals Bath at a sold out Recreation Ground on tomorrow (3pm).

It’s an encounter which has all the makings of a...

Chiefs deliver early Christmas present to fans

Exeter Chiefs delivered the perfect Christmas present to their Tribe of supporters as they leapfrogged Leicester Tigers into fourth place with victory at Sandy Park.

Rob Baxter’s side notched up their fourth Aviva Premiership win on the bounce, courtesy of a dominant first half display that yielded tries for Jack Yeandle and Thomas Waldrom, along with a Penalty Try, which was also converted by skipper Gareth Steenson.

The Irishman added to his tally early in the second half with a penalty, before rounding off another impressive display with the boot by converting Ollie...

Baxter pleased with win

Delighted Exeter Chiefs head coach Rob Baxter was full of praise for his side after they recorded a first-ever European Champions Cup win in France with a 20-12 victory against Bordeaux-Begles.

Having been undone by their Top 14 hosts the week previous at Sandy Park, the Chiefs gained sweet revenge courtesy of tries from Thomas Waldrom and Luke Cowan-Dickie, plus ten points from the boot of fly-half Henry Slade.

Three penalties from Lionel Beauxis, plus another from replacement Baptiste Serin, helped to keep the home side in touch for much of the contest, but they were left...

Chiefs make history with win

Exeter Chiefs added another piece of history into their short European history by claiming a first-ever win on French soil in the Champions Cup.

Sure, Rob Baxter’s side have triumphed on the other side of the Channel in Bourgoin and La Rochelle, but both those success stories came in Europe’s second tier competition.

In the wine-making region of Bordeaux, Baxter was able to toast a famous day for his team as they saw off their French rivals courtesy of tries from Thomas Waldrom and Luke Cowan-Dickie, plus ten points from the boot of fly-half Henry Slade (pictured).

Chiefs side to face Bordeaux Begles

The European aspirations of Exeter Chiefs may be hanging by a thread after three successive losses in this season’s Champions Cup, but head coach Rob Baxter says it is imperative his side don't allow themselves to flounder during the remainder of the competition.

Just a week after coming unstuck 13-7 at home to French rivals Bordeaux Begles, the two sides meet again tomorrow at the Stade Chaban Delmas (4pm) in a game which Baxter insists has plenty on it.

Frustrated by his side’s inability to turn possession and territory into greater reward last time out, the Chiefs will...

Kai Horstmann insists he and his Exeter Chiefs team-mates will use the disappointment of last weekend’s home defeat to Bordeaux Begles as the ideal motivation ahead of tomorrow’s latest European match-up in the Champions Cup (2pm).

Undone 13-7 by the Frenchman at Sandy Park last Sunday, the two clubs lock horns once more in Round 4 of the competition at the Stade Chaban Delmas.

Having suffered three defeats in as many games so far this season, it’s hardly been the European campaign Rob Baxter’s team would have envisaged when they set out in the opening fixture back in...
