Hunter hopes competition for places will drive up standards

Rob Hunter believes competition to get into the Exeter Chiefs starting line-up ahead of the new Aviva Premiership season will help to drive standards up during pre-season.

Forwards coach Hunter said he was “pretty pleased” after watching the English champions notch up victories over the Cornish Pirates (47-15) and Dragons (50-24) during Saturday’s Double Header at Sandy Park.

The Chiefs split their playing squad into two different line-ups for the two games, thus allowing a large nucleus to press their claims for a potential starting spot in the club’s opening league...

The museum will build on the findings made while researching the History of St James Park project, also funded by the HLF, which was...

Exeter City 1 Lincoln City 0: Match report

Reuben Reid sealed a 1-0 win for Exeter City against Lincoln City after a hard-fought encounter at St James Park in Sky Bet League Two.

The City striker's excellent first-half goal was the difference between the two sides as the visitors put up a stern test for Paul Tisdale’s men.

The Grecians made three changes to the side that drew 1-1 with Swindon Town last time out as Luke Croll, Troy Archibald-Henville, and Jake Taylor replaced Jordan Moore-Taylor, Lee Holmes and David Wheeler.

In a first half which didn’t have too many clear chances for both teams, the away...

This was the dramatic moment Exeter Chiefs supremo Tony Rowe was sent off his own pitch!

He was just seconds into a substitution when the whistle was blown for a misdemeanour in the scrum.

Mr Rowe protested his innocence but referee Tony ‘Spreaders’ Spreadbury brandished a yellow card.

It was the shortest debut in Exeter Chiefs history.

The club chairman was playing in a fun testimonial game for fly-half Gareth Steenson which was watched by an estimated 8,000 fans at Sandy Park.

A former Exeter Chiefs squad took on a Classic Lions team, which...

Exeter City drew 1-1 with Swindon Town at the County Ground in their second match of the Sky Bet League Two season.

A first half goal from Liam McAlinden was cancelled out by Swindon Town substitute Kaiyne Woolery in the second half, meaning the Grecians travelled back to Devon with one point after a hard fought encounter.

Paul Tisdale made three changes to the side that suffered a narrow defeat to Charlton Athletic in the Carabao Cup in midweek with Craig Woodman, Jordan Moore-Taylor and David Wheeler returning to the starting line up in place of Troy Archibald-Henville,...

Fans are going to witness the Sandy Park supremo running out in a Chiefs strip for the first (and only) time.
