Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

Exeter star Henry Slade says the Chiefs are well aware rivals Wasps will be out for revenge when the two sides lock horns in Sunday’s Aviva Premiership clash at Sandy Park (3pm).

In the first meeting between the two since last May’s Premiership Final at Twickenham – which the Devonians won 23-20 after extra-time – again there is little to choose between either club ahead of this round four encounter.

Last Friday’s 41-10 victory for Rob Baxter’s side at Worcester Warriors lifted the Chiefs back to the summit of the division, a spot they held onto following the weekend...

Leander Paes has been dropped from Indian Tennis List

The tennis world will always have that news that will leave people wondering. It could be a huge upset is taking place where someone that is ceded at number 50 or 100 is walloping someone within the first 5. It may be a new comer beating the hell out of a multiple grand slam winner. In all these, the only thing that gains is the suspense and the glamorous nature of the game. If everything becomes predictable, the beauty of the game will be lost. So, all these are actually welcomed.

However, the news coming from India seems to be the most current upset, and it says that two of the...

Why Cheltenham runners are to be declared 48 hours before races

Starting from the next year, every race that will happen in the Cheltenham Festival will be declared at least 48 hours before the start of the race. This is coming from the British Horseracing Authority in the wake of the present year’s events. The practice has been that the ‘non-novice Grade Ones’ make the declaration 48 hours before the race. Other races do theirs 24 hours before the race in line with the National Hunt system.

Many people were surprised about this change in status quo and have wondered why it is coming at this time. Many people are seeing it as a radical move and...

Exeter City ran out 3-0 winners over Crewe Alexandra at St James Park to keep them top of the table in Sky Bet League Two.

First half goals from Jordan Tillson and Jake Taylor gave the Grecians a comfortable advantage going into the break, before substitute Jayden Stockley’s second half goal rounded off a strong performance from the Grecians.

City manager, Paul Tisdale, named an unchanged side for the fourth consecutive match as they looked to secure a sixth consecutive league victory.

Back-to-back wins for Exeter Chiefs

With various parts of the world being battered from pillar to post, Worcester Warriors felt the full force of Rob Baxter’s Exeter Chiefs as they made it back-to-back wins in the Aviva Premiership.

The defending champions were at their ruthless best in the Midlands, running in another five-try display against the Warriors, who scant reward in a one-sided encounter came from a second half Biyi Alo try and five points from the boot of Sam Olver.

At the other end, Devon’s finest were again impressive with young Sam Simmonds again leading the way. The all-action No.8 helped...

Chiefs side to face Worcester Warriors

With normal service resumed at the weekend with victory over London Irish, defending Aviva Premiership Rugby champions Exeter Chiefs take to the road tomorrow night for their latest top-flight engagement.

Floored by a late sucker punch at Gloucester in their seasonal opener, Rob Baxter's side wasted little time in rediscovering their winning formula last Saturday, producing a five-try display that saw off the Exiles, as well as underlining the hallmarks of their title-winning credentials of last season.

The challenge moving forward, however, is to keep replicating that kind...

In attack Exeter Chiefs looked sharp enough, but Aussie scrum-half Nic White felt in defence the reigning champions were equally as good as they notched their first Aviva Premiership win of the season with success over visiting London Irish.

Rob Baxter’s side triumphed 37-7 at Sandy Park, claiming all five points courtesy of a penalty try and further touchdowns from Henry Slade, Olly Woodburn and Don Armand (2).

It was the ideal response from the Devonians, who the previous week had lost their seasonal opener in the dying seconds away to Gloucester.

For White,...
