As the PWR Cup semi-final approaches, Exeter Chiefs Women prepare to face a Saracens Women side strengthened by the return of Donna Rose. Rose, who has been absent from club rugby for over a year due to international duties and the recent 2025 Rugby World Cup, made a notable impact coming off the bench in the Saracens’ last outing. Her return brings valuable experience and depth to the Saracens’ squad, presenting a fresh challenge for Exeter Chiefs as they aim to defend their title.

The addition of such a high-calibre player is bound to influence the dynamics of this crucial...

Exeter Chiefs 8 Leinster 18

You don’t win titles by chance, especially when it comes to Europe, and Leinster underlined just why they are one of the best in the business, inflicting defeat on rivals Exeter Chiefs at Sandy Park.

Almost a year to the day since Bordeaux-Begles emerged victorious from fortress Sandy Park, so it was the turn of the Irish province to experience the same winning feeling against Rob Baxter’s men.

Leo Cullen’s outfit produced not only a victorious display in deepest Devon, but a streetwise one at that, claiming tries through Johnny Sexton and Jack Conan, together with...

City beaten in Essex

Exeter City fell to a 3-1 defeat away to Colchester United in Sky Bet League Two.

Two first-half goals from Sammie Szmodics and an own goal in the first-half was enough to take the match away from City who did pull one back through Jayden Stockley in the second-half, but it wasn't enough despite creating a host of chances later in the match.

With the Grecians returning to league action, Paul Tisdale made two changes to the City side that began the dramatic draw in the FA Cup against Forest Green as Reuben Reid and Ryan Harley...

Chiefs side to face Leinster

Rob Baxter says his Exeter Chiefs side are looking forward to "challenging themselves" in their bid to establish the club amongst Europe's elite.

Whereas in previous years the Chiefs have been guilty of not turning up to the party until it's in full swing, there has been no such issue this time around with Devon's finest recording notable victories over Glasgow Warriors (home) and Montpellier (away) during the opening rounds of this season's Champions Cup.

Like the Chiefs, though, Sunday's visitors Leinster have also enjoyed a stellar start, bettering the Premiership...

There was double celebration for retired teacher and volunteer Richard Parker as he was crowned People’s Champion of the Year 2017 along with receiving the Lifetime Achievement award at Teignbridge’s Sports and Community Awards.

The former Teign School teacher has dedicated more than 40 years’ service in education, integrating his love for the outdoors in the school curriculum. Dick was also the recipient of the Army’s Platinum Award for this work on the Ten Tors.

It was also double joy for young Ethan Kirby as he picked up the title of Junior Sportsperson of the Year to...

Exeter Chiefs 42 Bath Rugby 29

f you wanted a measure of just how far Exeter Chiefs have come in the past year, then this display from the reigning Aviva Premiership champions could not have painted a better picture.

Cast your mind back to October 2016 - the last time Exeter Chiefs played host to Bath - and it was the visitors who emerged from a titanic tussle victors thanks to a last-gasp score from Semesa Rokoduguni.

Fast forward to modern day and the difference between these two Westcountry rivals was like ‘Night & Day’. For an hour at least, everything Rob Baxter's side did was near perfection,...

Late drama sets up FA Cup replay

Exeter City set up an FA Cup replay with Forest Green Rovers after a pulsating 3-3 draw at the New Lawn.

After Christian Doidge had given the home side the lead, City fought back with goals from Jordan Moore-Taylor and Jayden Stockley, before Rovers rallied to lead 3-2 but for a late Stockley header in a match which saw three very late goals.

Chiefs side to face Bath

It’s a result that still irks one or two at Sandy Park, but it was to prove a pivotal moment in Exeter’s title-winning campaign last season.

Having controlled large parts of their home encounter with Bath last October, the Chiefs were subsequently floored by a crafty sucker punch from their Westcountry rivals, when Fijian flyer Semesa Rokoduguni strolled over for a winning try deep into added on time.

It was a bitter pill to swallow for Rob Baxter’s side in the immediate aftermath. However, it would be the last time he and his side would taste defeat on home soil in the...

Danny Seaborne signs for City

Danny Seaborne has rejoined Exeter City.

The defender, who helped the Grecians achieve back-to-back promotions from the Conference to League One between 2007 and 2009, has been without a club since leaving Scottish Premier League side Hamilton Academicals in the summer.

The 30-year-old Barnstaple-born player is a popular figure with the St James Park faifthul as he is a product of the club’s youth academy and went on to captain the side in one of their finest moments as they achieved promotion back to the Football League in 2008 with a Conference play-off final victory over...

Premiership Rugby champion, Jack Yeandle, returns to his QE roots

On Monday 27th November, Premiership Rugby star and Ex QE Student, Jack Yeandle came back to Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton to deliver a Rugby Masterclass.

As part of QE’s afterschool Rugby Club, Jack led the session with QE’s Rugby stars of the future. Jack also reminisced about the start of his Rugby playing career representing QE. Students found it fascinating to hear him speak of the last game that he played for the school, on the Barnfield pitch against Torrington school, as a Full back rather than his current position as a hooker!

Colin Skinner, PE Team leader...

City out of Checkatrade Trophy

Exeter City crashed out of the Checkatrade Trophy with a 3-1 defeat at home to Chelsea under-21's.

Despite an early goal from Reuben Reid, the Grecians were pegged back by the blues' youngsters who levelled through Callum Hudson-Odoi, before Reece James and Josh Grant sealed the win for the away side. City boss Paul Tisdale rang the changes for the Grecians in a competition where he has frequently given fringe players opportunities to impress. In fact, Kane Wilson was the only starter from City’s 2-0 win over Accrington Stanley at the weekend that retained their place in the...
