Waldrom to leave the Exeter Chiefs

Thomas Waldrom has today confirmed he is to leave the Exeter Chiefs at the end of the current 2017/18 season.

The free-scoring No.8, who has scored 50 tries in 91 appearances for the club to date, says the time has now come for him to return home to his native New Zealand with his family.

His departure after four seasons with the Chiefs will undoubtedly be felt by everyone at Sandy Park, particularly given his outstanding form since arriving from Aviva Premiership rivals Leicester Tigers in 2014, but he insists he still has plenty to play for between now and the end of the...

Chiefs book semi-final slot

A week ago it appeared Exeter's Anglo-Welsh dream was hanging by a thread following their defeat at Worcester. Tonight, it's alive and kicking as the Chiefs booked themselves a home semi-final against Newcastle Falcons with this seven-try victory over visiting Saracens.

Having surrendered top spot to Harlequins heading into the final round of pool games, the odds were seemingly staked against Devon's finest with the Londoners needing to collect just a solitary point from their own trip to Northampton Saints on Friday night to ensure they would be the side to advance from Pool 2....

Grecians narrowly beaten at Kenilworth Road

Luton Town 1 City 0

Exeter City slipped to a narrow defeat away from home to league leaders Luton Town in Sky Bet League Two.

The Grecians, who spent much of the match without the ball against a strong Luton team, defended well for much of the game but weren't able to hold out.

Harry Cornick's shot in the first half took a wicked deflection off the impressive Jordan Storey and ended up in the back of the net as the Hatters claimed the win.

A spokesman for the club, said: ‘We are pleased to be able to report that the piling operation was completed on...

Although Exeter’s Anglo-Welsh Cup hopes remain in the balance, Chiefs skills coach Ricky Pellow insists his side will be going ‘all-out’ for victory when they play host to Saracens at Sandy Park tomorrow (3pm).

Last weekend’s 31-21 defeat at Worcester Warriors saw the Devonians surrender top spot in their pool to Harlequins, who tonight travel to Northampton Saints knowing they need just a point to advance into the last four at the expense of the Chiefs.

That said, the Saints themselves need a victory to thrust them into the last four and Pellow is hopeful the Midlanders...
