Baxter reacts to European Champions Cup draw

Rob Baxter says he and his Exeter Chiefs squad should relish what is another ‘exciting’ Heineken Champions Cup pool for the upcoming season.

The Chiefs have been named in Pool Two of the 2018/19 competition, lining up alongside reigning Top14 champions Castres Olympique, Irish giant Munster and Premiership rivals Gloucester.

For the Chiefs, both Castres and Munster are new opponents, having never faced either in competitive action before. The latter, however, do provide a pre-season test for Baxter’s side when they lock horns in Cork on Friday, August 24.

Can Harry Kane top the goalscoring table at the World Cup?

With the start of the World Cup nearly here, England fans are eager to see how the Three Lions perform. By facing opponents such as Belgium, Tunisia, and Panama, England shouldn’t have problems progressing with the exception of the difficult match against Belgium. However, Gareth Southgate's team is looking much better than before and by giving the captain honors to Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane, they are obviously planning on the prolific attacker to lead England to glory.

Kane is a real gem. He's the deadliest striker England has had probably since Alan Shearer and Wayne...

England World Cup Rap

From early days our playing ways were purely practical

No intent to reinvent or cement something maturely tactical

Allardyce and others like him are surely too didactical

And people are surprised when England’s tournament time is anticlimactical

We had the nightmare of Nice against an immutable Iceland

So might there be a cease to the FA’s usual silence?

Guus Hiddink on a 2-year plan was clearly warranted

If they did it that super man would have been sincerely restorative

But oh no, the blazers running the show, appraisers of...

Jordan Storey has joined Championship side Preston North End for an undisclosed fee. The youngster, another product of Exeter City’s Academy, has secured the move after rising to prominence in the second half of last season with a number of superb performances as the Grecians booked their place in the Sky Bet League Two play-off final for the second season in succession. Exeter City chairman Julian Tagg, said: “We are delighted for Jordan. Despite his limited number of appearances for Exeter City, he made rapid progress last season. “His excellent performances at the heart of our defence...

Low signs new Chiefs deal

Moray Low says he’s ‘excited’ about the year ahead after agreeing terms on a new one-year contract with the Exeter Chiefs.

The Scottish international will take his stay at Sandy Park into a fifth year, having moving to the Premiership outfit from former club Glasgow Warriors in 2014.

Part and parcel of Rob Baxter’s squad ever since, the 33-year-old prop underlined his proven qualities last season by producing a man-of-the-match display in the club’s Anglo-Welsh Cup final victory over Bath at Kingsholm.

Since making his debut in the away win at London Welsh In...

What are England's chances at the World Cup?

The 2018 FIFA World Cup will start in just a few days, with all the teams and fans already enjoying Russia. This year's World Cup will probably be the most exciting in years as there are no clear favorites for the title and a lot of dark horses. The road to the final will be especially tough for England, who have been drawn into a tricky group that also features Panama, Belgium, and Tunisia.

Considering the last tournament and the managerial change, England isn't really being considered a top favorite. Granted, Gareth Southgate has instilled a great team spirit in the squad, but...
