Pellow to leave Chiefs after 16 seasons

Ricky Pellow has made the decision to leave the Exeter Chiefs coaching team after 16 seasons to spend more time with his family and explore other career opportunities.

The proud Cornishman joined Chiefs in 2009 as skills coach after retiring from his playing career during which he played scrum-half for Cornish Pirates and Worcester Warriors.

Pellow said: “I’ve had 16 amazing years here at the club, so it’s an emotional decision to leave but it is one that enables me and my family to experience a new adventure.

Roly Palmer, an experienced Dawlish coarse fishing expert and angling coach at Cofton Holidays, has been recognised for his work to encourage young people into angling with a prestigious Volunteering Excellence Award from the Angling Trust.

Nominated for his commitment to protecting fisheries and promoting fishing to new anglers, the award recognises Roly’s work over the past 15 years as a volunteer for the Exeter & District Angling Association.

Devon crowds will have the chance to see 11 of the UCI’s (Union Cycliste Internationale) top level WorldTour teams race compete in the Tour of Britain this September.

The final list of 20 teams for the OVO Energy Tour of Britain has now been confirmed and it includes the four British UCI Continental teams that have qualified for the UK’s most prestigious cycle race. Fun for all ages at Newton Abbot Racecourse's Family Raceday

There’s something for all the family at Newton Abbot Racecourse this Sunday, 22 July as they prepare for their ever-popular Family Raceday.

Not only are there seven races on the card for horseracing fans, but they will also be joined by Plymouth Albion star, Eoghan Grace, and his team of coaches in the Family Enclosure who will be running a series of fun rugby games for children.

Exeter Tennis Centre has been selected as a Local Player Development Centre as part of the LTA's 10-year Performance Strategy for tennis in Britain.

The centres will be operational from September 2018 and will play an important part in developing the next generation of British tennis players.

Max Smallcombe and Alex Hartridge have joined Conference South side Truro City on six-month loan deals.

THERE were thrilling finals in the 14th Exeter City Supporters Trust’s One Game One Community Group male and female five-a-side community diversity football tournament, when eight male and six female teams competed for trophies and medals.

In the male final, Marcel's Allstars drew 2-2 against Isanbul Barbers and with no score in extra time, just as in many World Cup games, it was down to penalty shoot outs.

Exeter Deaf Academy have won the national track and field competition for Deaf schools for the second consecutive year. It is the first time the Cup has been won by the same school two years in a row in the history of the event.
