Georgian Youngster Tchumbadze Becomes a Chief

Exeter Chiefs have completed the signing of young Georgian international prop, Bachuki Tchumbadze, ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 23-year-old front rower moves to Devon to play his club rugby outside of his native Georgia for the first time in his career.

“I really enjoy English rugby, and I’m truly honoured to have the opportunity to be a key part of the Exeter Chiefs,” Tchumbadze said.

“I’m well aware of the crucial role that forwards play in the team’s system, and I’m really looking forward to making my debut in the Premiership.”

Devon’s Bicton Arena is officially Britain’s very best show centre.

A recent online poll conducted by Horse and Hound magazine asked readers to vote for their favourite venue and Bicton Arena was voted number one.

In glorious weather, young people from across Devon and Cornwall shone brightest at the South West Rotary Youth Games at Dawlish on Saturday 7 July.

Around 800 participants aged 8-18 represented their local area across 13 sports at the South Devon venue whilst hundreds of other families enjoyed a packed day of activities including food stalls, fun runs, archery, dodgeball, swimming and local bands all brought to a brilliant climax by watching England on the giant screen qualify for the World Cup semi-finals.

EXETER City Football Club is marking the day of the World Cup Final (Sunday, July 15, 2018) by holding its own special international tournament for both men and women's teams.

The Club will once again celebrate diversity in the local community when its annual summer five-a-side tournament is held at the University of Exeter’s Streatham Sports Park.

Dozens have celebrated this year’s World Cup by taking part in a special football tournament hosted by a charity which is encouraging people with learning disabilities to get more active.

To celebrate the World Cup taking place, ROC Active Exeter – a service run by the disability charity United Response – hosted a ‘World Cup Day’ football tournament for people with learning disabilities and local schoolchildren over 15.

Organisers of this weekend’s Bicton Arena Horse Trials are working around the clock to ensure the best going possible for its affiliated competition in light of the long spell of dry weather.

Former Exeter Chiefs star Matt Jess and GB cycling international Lauren Dolan have joined the South West Rotary Youth Games as official ambassadors. The Cornwall-raised Jess spent nine seasons with the Chiefs, a period that included promotion to the Premiership, an Anglo-Welsh Cup Triumph and 2017’s famous Premiership title victory.
