Liverpool FC's Greatest Season Ever

If we talk about the league points, then 2018-19 can be called the greatest season Liverpool FC ever played. This was Liverpool's best season in the Premier League era and they were only beaten by one point by Manchester City. In this season Mohamed Salah scored the most goals (44 and 27 goals 2018 and 2019 respectively). The reasons why Liverpool FC could have the greatest season ever played by a football club are as follows:

Klopp Can Make Liverpool the Best Team in the History of Football

Klopp, Liverpool's main man, certainly does have all the elements to make his team legendary. He seems to know every single aspect of his team and has it under his complete control. The players look up to him, and they seem as though they play for him and each other. Their mentality even seems to have improved compared to last season with a couple of very late winning goals showing that it is never too late for Liverpool to score a goal. The club also has a tremendous amount of money in the bank, with the fresh youth team looking frightening and cunning to run wild on the football grounds.

What's Better than Starting New Year with a Win

Liverpool kicked off the new year just like they ended last year – by winning. This is certainly a good omen for the remainder of this season. Especially the match against Manchester United left all Liverpool fans with a big smile on their face. Even though United did have the chance to equalize several times in the match, Liverpool in the end demonstrated their winning mentality in great fashion with Salah making it 2-0 in injury time. This was another important statement in their goal to win the Premier League with the most points a club has ever reached in one season.

A reliable reserve team

Liverpool can also win without any of their top stars like Mané, van Dijk or Salah. The matches against both Everton and Shrewsbury, where Liverpool only played a B or even C-team, demonstrated it with the 19 years old Curtis Jones scoring the winning goal twice. Klopp was impressed by the way he conducted himself throughout these two different contests against two different teams. Klopp did not attend the FA cup victory against Shrewsbury, but he sure did praise Jones for the incredible victory.

Driving Force Behind the Shadows

With Gérard Houllier or Rafa Benitez Liverpool FC had some successful coaches in the past and the present coach Jürgen Klopp certainly is no exception in this. Especially when it comes to motivating his team he might be the best coach in the world currently. However, the coach can only be as good as the team and the captain that implement the tactics and orders on the field.
This is why every team also needs a strong captain. It was not easy to find a proper replacement for Steven Gerrard in 2015, but Jordan Henderson has absolutely grown into this role and does a fantastic job, particularly in the last 2 years. He is the link between the players and the coach and the fans can surely thank him for the club’s achievements, first and foremost the Champions League win in 2019.

Is this side also the strongest Liverpool team ever?

When looking at the current squad you won’t see any significant changes to last year’s successful season. While the same thing can be said about Tottenham from 2018-2019, with 25 wins out of 26 matches Liverpool prove that it is not always necessary to buy expensive new players every season.

This line is probably the most energetic team Liverpool has seen in ages. They are also performing very good and keeping spectators amazed. If we look into only this year (2020) then they have played 13 matches and have only lost against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League and Watford recently. If we talk about goals, then the 1 February 2020 match takes the trophy. Liverpool won 4-0 against Southampton.

Conclusion

With this team, this year can be the one that will be the most fabulous season Liverpool has ever played. Liverpool’s squad strength and depth look as extraordinary as never before along with the mentality of wanting to win every single match they have. If Liverpool continue to play like this, they will certainly set a new Premier League record with bookmakers like Bet365 already offering bets on it. Bet365 also has a lucrative sign-up offer for everyone who is interested in this year’s Premier League campaign and the (already decided?) title race. However, Liverpool need to move up a gear in the Champions League as the rematch at home against Atletico Madrid on March 11 won’t be an easy task at all.
