Come and experience the ultimate ‘Sevens Heaven’ as Exeter prepares to welcome the European Grand Prix 7s Series to Sandy Park in July.

The award-winning home of rugby in Devon – which has already been selected as one of 12 venues for this year’s Rugby World Cup – is set to welcome the cream of European Sevens talent for a star-studded weekend of action.

With qualification for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil on the line, the July 11-12 event promises to be an vital competition for the seven-a-side game – and will see the home unions of England, Scotland and Wales, tackling rivals from Russia, Spain, Belgium, Georgia, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy and Lithuania.

Having last year been staged in Manchester, organisers of the competition believe Sandy Park will provide a worthy setting to the Series, which also takes in earlier rounds in Moscow (June 6-7) and Lyon (June 13-14).

Tickets, which have gone on sale for the first time today, are sure to be snapped up quickly as the rugby-mad region prepares to welcome yet another highly prestigious tournament to its shores.

With adult tickets available at £10 a day – or weekend passes for just £25, which includes entry to a special Friday night event, the event promises to deliver an amazing spectacle both on and off the field.

John Wood, Head of Corporate at Exeter Rugby Club, says: “Over the years Sandy Park has proven itself time and again as a First Class rugby venue capable of hosting high-profile fixtures and tournaments.

“In what is a big year for everyone here at Sandy Park, the fact we are hosting Rugby World Cup fixtures and now the very exciting Exeter European Grand Prix 7s Series, we feel we are positioning ourselves at the very summit of rugby venues in this country.

“The European Grand Prix 7s Series continues to grow ever year, so to be hosting the final leg is indeed a major honour for us as a club and is helping to put Exeter Rugby Club, Exeter City and Devon itself even further on the global map.”
