RockSolid fever gripping the South West and beyond

With RockSolidRace’s inaugural event only two months away, obstacle racing is becoming the hot topic of conversation. The event, being held on 16th March, offers a challenge like no other seen in the South West.

We’re talking about the choice of a 5k or 10k obstacle course that includes scaling 8 ft walls, crawling through mud under barbed wire and plenty of water based obstacles - it’s certainly not a course for the faint-hearted! That, however, doesn’t seem to be putting people off as they’re signing up in their droves.

Demand for the event has already surpassed initial expectations. Ashley Jardine, founder of RockSolidRace commented “I’m thrilled that there has been such a great pick up. We’ve hit our original target and as a result, we’ve had to increase the numbers due to the demand. It’s going to be the event of the year!”

It’s not just the South West that has embraced everything RockSolid with registered participants signing up from all over the UK, including Manchester, London, Newcastle and Ireland.

The event is being held at Escot Park but the day isn’t just about the obstacle race - participants and their supporters are being encouraged to make a day of it. RockSolid have lined up 4 bands, including a performance by Adam Isaac, 2 bars, hot food and the chance to watch the 6 Nations rugby. The party doesn’t stop there, with buses transporting participants to Exeter’s favourite nightclub Timepiece to party into the night. RockSolid attendees get free entrance to Timepiece with their wristbands.

Local businesses have signed up as sponsors for the event, including local design agency Digibug, SpecSavers Exeter, Yeo Valley, Frobishers and Timepiece.
