Sport clubs across the Exeter, East and Mid Devon area are taking up the opportunity of free support to help them run their club and grow their membership, making the most of the workshops on funding and marketing through social media on offer on the night.

County Sport Partnership Active Devon is delivering the Club Support evening on Monday 10 June at Exeter City Football Club, St James’ Park, Exeter and are urging all sports clubs to utilise this free resource.

The evenings offer clubs the opportunity to find out about the latest programmes and the workshops will focus on communicating with young people through social media and good practice when submitting funding applications and how to link projects into local and national sport strategies.

The partnership regularly runs support and training events for clubs and coaches and the Club Support Evenings in particular have proved so popular, they are a regular feature on the calendar and cover the whole of the County.

Senior Development Manager at Active Devon, Stuart Dudley said “The Club Support Evenings enable us to share a great deal of information on programmes that offer clear benefits to clubs in addition to advice on where to find funding, ways to attract new members and ideas to develop sport clubs.

"Most club representatives are extremely busy and we have found in the past that this ‘one-stop-shop’ format is greatly appreciated with attending clubs gaining valuable support that has enabled many of them to go on and make successful funding applications to improve facilities, increase membership or develop provision.”

Sport Clubs interested in attending should visit www.activedevon.org/clubsupport for further details and complete our online booking form to reserve a place or call 01392 263674.
