MORE than 100 businesswomen turned up to the launch of Exeter’s first Leading Women UK networking group in the city.

The event, held at Southernhay’s prestigious Rendezvous Restaurant, was completely booked out, with a waiting list for those who couldn’t squeeze in.

The evening, on Monday 17th Feb, was hosted by city entrepreneur and public speaking expert Celia Delaney and Leading Women UK’s founder, Rachel Jones.

“It was an amazing night here in Exeter with an impressive turnout of a mixture of career women, entrepreneurs and professional organisations, all of whom have fully embraced the ethos behind Leading Women UK,” said Rachel.

"It is not a surprise to see why Leading Women UK is becoming the fastest growing female network in the south west. Tonight alone saw peer to peer support, collaborations, connections and ambitious plans for the future. ”

Celia Delaney, who is also hosting this year’s Venus Awards for businesswomen, said: “We have had an amazing turnout backed up by an outstanding team which truly reflects the tribe of Leading Women.”

The Exeter event was co-hosted by wine consultant Rebecca Mitchell, marketeer Ashley Petrons and Leading Women champion and owner of Bowater Communications Alexis Bowater.

“This has been an incredible turnout and just goes to show the demand for positive support and networking of this kind,” said Alexis.
“Since we started Leading Women UK in Devon just before Christmas we have had enormous interest and the meetings are getting bigger and better all the time.”

The next meeting of Leading Women UK in Devon will be at The Moorland Garden Hotel near Yelverton on March 11th at 7pm. Please see Leading Women UK's networking events calendar for details on this event and more.
