Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

The MS Trust’s Survival Skills Weekend will be taking place in Ashclyst Forest in Devon from 23-25 June to raise funds to help people with multiple sclerosis. The charity is looking for 10 budding Bear Grylls to take part in this outdoor adventure where participants will be sponsored to live in shelters they have built and eat food they have foraged from the forest. The Donkey Sanctuary is welcoming volunteers to its Woodland Management Volunteer Day near Honiton on Saturday 18 February from 10am till 4pm.

Each month the Sanctuary runs wildlife and conservation volunteer days, which include outdoor practical tasks such as gardening, woodland management, hedge planting, willow weaving and the building of bug hotels. More towns and parishes sign up as Road Wardens

New recruits are joining the growing ranks of Devon County Council’s Community Road Wardens.

Around a quarter of town and parish councils in Devon have now either signed up as Roads Wardens or have been trained or are waiting for training as part of the scheme.

Community Road Wardens can carry out a range of duties including minor work such as weed clearance, grass cutting, sign cleaning, small drainage work, and minor road repairs. They act as their town or parish’s primary point of contact with the County Council’s local Neighbourhood Highway Officers.

Final section of Tithebarn Link Road scheme approved

Construction of the final phase of a vital scheme to improve transport links between the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point and the city has today (Friday 10 February) been approved by Devon County Council’s Cabinet.

Councillors backed the £5.2 million scheme for the remaining section of the Tithebarn Link Road as well as the development of a new pedestrian and cycle bridge over the M5.

The completed road will provide an alternative route for traffic travelling between Exeter and the developments of Cranbrook, Skypark and Exeter Science Park.

Killerton's iconic portraits moved ahead of vital roof repairs

After nearly 120 years, iconic portraits of the Acland family members, who lived in the Georgian mansion, have been moved as part of a new exhibition inside Killerton House, near Exeter.

Their relocation from the water damaged stairway means the National Trust can commence a vital project to repair the leaking roof and conserve the building. Blundell’s Prep pupils raise funds for blood bikes

Pupils from Blundell’s Prep School, Tiverton, were thrilled to hand over more than £2000 to Devon Freewheelers, the emergency courier service. The youngsters raised the money during the autumn term through a variety of initiatives including selling Christmas cards that they had designed, collections taken at their carol service and running games and selling second hand books and toys and refreshments at their Christmas market. Despite 2017 having only just begun East Devon District Council's Countryside volunteers already have lots to celebrate. Over 300 hours have been dedicated during January, allowing the team to achieve great things in the countryside.
