The Exeter takes on London to Paris cycle for Macmillan Cancer Support

UK health and life insurer The Exeter has announced that seven of their colleagues are preparing to cycle 340 miles from London to Paris in June 2026, as part of a major fundraising effort for the company’s corporate charity partner, Macmillan Cancer Support.

The team has already raised more than £23,000, with fundraising continuing ahead of the challenge. The ride reflects The Exeter’s ongoing commitment to supporting Macmillan’s work, which provides care, practical support and advocacy for people affected by cancer across the UK.

An Exeter resident has become one of the first people in the UK to enter the early years industry via a new training initiative designed to address the recruitment crisis.

More than half (55%) of UK drivers do not always check their tyre tread before a long journey, new research from National Highways reveals as its new autumn safety campaign is launched.

Railway line between Axminster and Exeter to close for two weeks

Buses will replace trains between Axminster and Exeter St Davids from Saturday 9 November to Friday 22 November inclusive while Network Rail engineers install a mile of new track through Honiton Tunnel.

Over a two-week period engineers replace the existing 50-year-old track through the tunnel, as well as installing new sleepers and ballast.
