Guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon are the latest acts heading to the south Devon countryside for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust Former Chair, Anita Newcombe, along with her husband Richard, will undertake an intrepid trek to Everest Base Camp to raise funds for Devon Air Ambulance’s new Night Flying Programme.

Anita had been a trustee of DAAT for the last 6 years, Chair of the Board of Trustees for the last 4 years and completed her tenure in May 2017. To mark her departure from the Board and her handover to the incoming Chair, Anita has chosen to raise funds by undertaking this exciting and challenging 18-day expedition.

Salvage Hunters, the popular Quest TV and Discovery Channel show, is heading to Devon to record a special edition of the programme.

The show follows architectural salvage and antiques expert Drew Pritchard as he travels around the UK to prestigious, interesting, and historic places hunting out and buying quirky and unusual objects no longer wanted by their present owner.

Drew has visited everywhere from beautiful stately homes, to architectural salvage dealers, to private collectors and museums, buying everything from 16th century oak tables to 6 foot 1980s disco balls....

Devon Local Nature Partnership is running a campaign called ‘Naturally Healthy Month’ throughout May to encourage people to get out and enjoy the many benefits of being active outdoors.

East Devon District Council's countryside team is taking part in the campaign and encouraging people to attend one of their events or try out volunteering.

A new Habitat Mitigation Officer has been appointed to give information, advice and guidance to the public across the Exe Estuary, Dawlish Warren and East Devon Pebblebed Heaths.

Firearms officers issued with Body Worn Video cameras

Today (Wednesday 17 March) sees the deployment of Body Worn Video (BWV) which is being issued to 270 Authorised Firearms Officers (AFOs), across Devon & Cornwall Police and Dorset Police.

The rollout of the cameras follows a successful trial and public consultation.

Legal firm's donation boosts city charity project
