Despite the very wet weather, the team walked from Haytor Rock to Shaldon in just under 5 in a half hours. Tide was not on their side resulting to the team having to walk 3 miles waist deep in water to complete the final leg of the walk! Following the huge success last year in fundraising, Edcuated Recruitment exceeded their sponsor target of £500 and raised a very impressive £742 for the cause! Bruce Chivers donates vase to Exeter Museum

Internationally-renowned, Devon-based ceramicist Bruce Chivers has donated an exquisite Japanese-inspired vase to the collections at Exeter’s Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery (RAMM).

Bruce Chivers’s work is influenced by Japanese art and culture. He is an expert in the ancient Japanese skill of Raku firing. This technique embraces Zen elements of surprise and random pattern-making as the pots are taken from the hot kiln and rapidly cooled.

The donated vase was chosen because it reflects his response to Japanese art and culture perfectly. The vase is an...

Devon County Council is disappointed to have to confirm that the proposed Bridge Road opening date, for the week commencing Monday 31 July, will not be met.

This further inconvenience on one of Exeter’s busiest road is regrettable, but the contractor has a full-time seven days a week presence on site. Complex structural engineering work is continuing in areas under the Swing Bridge and on the outside of Countess Wear Bridge, where the most technically challenging part of the scheme is taking place on the cantilevered pedestrian and cycle bridge, but this activity may not be...

At Newbridge recently 32 black bags of rubbish were collected after one sunny Sunday, despite Rangers patrolling the site at its busiest, issuing black bags to...
