When people think about dementia, they often think about memory loss, diagnosis or the practical aspects of care.

What is spoken about far less is the emotional toll of trying to navigate support systems whilst also coping with the reality of someone you care about living with dementia.

A therapeutic secure children's home for young people has had major improvements, thanks to funding from the Department for Education.

The Chairman of Exeter-based Burrington Estates has been awarded an MBE in recognition of his outstanding service to the construction industry.

Man charged with murder after woman's body discovered in Exeter

The woman whose body was discovered in a property on Alphington Road in Exeter on Wednesday 10 January 2018 has been formally identified.

The body of Geraldine Mallor, 32, from Exeter, was located by Ambulance Services who informed police. Her next of kin have been informed.

Darrell Rose, a 36-year-old man from Exeter, has been charged with murder and will appear before Exeter Crown Court on Monday 15 January 2018.

The future looks bright for job seekers in Exeter and further afield following the success of a recent job fair in the city. More than 1,800 job seekers attended the Exeter Jobs Fair in September at Exeter Corn Exchange, with some people travelling from as far as Cardiff, Somerset and Plymouth. A377 in Crediton to be closed for a month

The A377 between Queen Elizabeth Drive and Higher Road Crediton is to be closed for foutr weks in order to stabilise the carriageway edge and resurface a cracked section of road.

The scheme is due to commence on 15 January 2018 and will continue for approximately a month (weather dependent). The road will be closed 24hrs a day but could be re-opened sooner subject to favourable conditions.

Women … do you have a passion for song? And would you like to take part in a stage show? Then here’s your chance to join the choir in a brand new Wren Music show that’s touring Devon in March – and no previous experience is necessary.

Rehearsals for ‘Ain’t I A Woman’ take place at the Cygnet Theatre in Exeter over four Sunday afternoons from 28 January to 25 February, with the tour taking to the road in Devon and Dorset in early March.
