Nationwide and Dementia UK’s free face-to-face clinics are returning to Nationwide’s Torquay, Plymouth and Exmouth branches this February, offering specialist support in a safe, comfortable and private space for people to discuss any aspect of dementia.

The RD&E has a “strong caring culture” with staff committed to putting patients’ needs first, according to a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection report released today.

The RD&E has maintained its ‘Good’ rating from the CQC – with some services showing improvements - after the CQC carried out a rigorous but routine and announced inspection of many of the Trust’s acute and community services earlier this year.

Work to start on new crossing in Exmouth

Work will start on the installation of a Toucan crossing on the A376, on the edge of Exmouth, on Tuesday 7 May.

The crossing will be located between Rivermead Avenue and Courtlands Cross and will connect to the Exe Estuary Trail via the National Trust’s Lower Halsdon Farm public path.

As part of the scheme, which is expected to take four weeks to complete, minor footpath widening will also be carried out on the eastern side of Exeter Road.

The scheme will provide a safer crossing of the A376 for pedestrians and cyclists and will improve sustainable transport links...

The Princesshay public toilets have now reopened to the public after an extensive refurbishment.

The £500,000 refurbishment has been funded in partnership by Princesshay retailers and restaurants and its owners The Crown Estate and Nuveen as part of their ongoing investment in Princesshay.

Saturday 6 July will be a BIG day in Exmouth for local charity Hospiscare . Exmouth and Lympstone Hospiscare will be holding their Family Fun Day at Manor Gardens from 10am – 4pm with live entertainment and lots of fun activities. Overnight resurfacing planned on A380

The next phase of overnight resurfacing work on the A380 is due to start on the evening of Tuesday 7 May.

Work will be taking place on the southbound carriageway at Harcombe Plantation.

To undertake the work safely, the A380 will be closed each night between 7pm and 7am (from 8pm on Friday nights) from its junction with the A38 to Mamhead Cross.

A signed diversion route will be in place via the A38, B3344, B3193, B3193 (Strap Lane), B3195 and A380.
