Exeter Racecourse has launched a brand-new Community Raceday and is inviting people across Devon to nominate a community hero who deserves recognition.

Community Raceday takes place on Friday, February 20, during half term, and coincides with Devon Day at the racecourse. The initiative celebrates the people who make a real difference in their communities – from volunteers and carers to sports coaches, fundraisers and quiet grafters who go above and beyond.

Patients can have their say on waiting for NHS treatment as part of new Exeter research which could influence health policy.

Members of Exeter Philharmonic Choir, which has recently raised money for the Lord Mayor's charity SSAFA Devon, attended a special reception and cheque presentation at the city’s Guildhall last week.

Topsham residents and visitors can look forward to the reopening of the popular Devon Air Ambulance Vintage & Variety charity shop in Fore Street this Saturday.

The shop’s planned refit was negated when excess water forced the shop to close its doors last winter.
