Exeter retains position amongst UK’s best universities in influential rankings

Exeter has retained its position amongst the best universities in the UK, according to the latest influential rankings.

The University preserved its 12th place nationally in the influential The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2020.

Exeter was also ranked 2nd in the South West region in the rankings, released today (September 20th 2019).

The league table cites Exeter’s continued investment in campus infrastructure in recent years, favourable contact hours and class sizes, and the Gold rated TEF award as being behind the University’s high ranking....

The Glow in the Park fun run invites people to dance, walk, jog or run though a 5K route with nine different ‘Glow Zones’. Honiton’s High Street will be bustling on Saturday 28 September as around 50 fine food, drink and craft producers will be joined by top chefs, food experts and talented entertainers for this year’s Gate to Plate.

Record passenger trips on Okehampton Sunday train service

The Sunday rail service between Okehampton and Exeter has had its most successful season on record.

The service attracted more than 7,800 passenger trips during this year's summer season – the highest figure recorded over the past 18 years.

The train operates every Sunday between May and September with four journeys each day. Devon County Council subsidises the operation, with the service provided by GWR (Great Western Railway).

As part of its ongoing commitment to volunteering in the local community, the firm’s Barnstaple staff took a day out of the office to paint, decorate and give a new lease of life to the Sea Cadets’ HQ on Rolle Quay.

Exeter lawyer Penny Scott, who is chair of the Family Law Committee of The Law Society, has today expressed her concerns over the loss of two important bills - following the suspension of parliament.

All bills advancing through the commons were halted this week, including the Divorce, Dissolution and Separation Bill and the Domestic Abuse Bill.
