Exeter Racecourse partners with ELF to launch Festive Gifting Programme

Exeter Racecourse is delighted to announce a new partnership with The Exeter Leukaemia Fund (ELF) for ELF Raceday, taking place on Friday 5th December 2025.

Through this collaboration, ELF and Exeter Racecourse will launch a special gifting programme aimed at bringing joy to children and families supported by the charity during the Festive season.

A DEVON care provider says its industry is one of the most rewarding and it is very concerned a recent study found a third of workers leave the sector each year (2019).

A patient has become the first at the Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust to undergo day case hip replacement surgery, after being discharged just eight hours after surgery.

Christopher Bennett suffered from painful osteoarthritis in his hip. After trying to settle his pain with non-operative measures, he came to the conclusion that his quality of life was affected enough to warrant surgery. Co Bikes are coming to Cranbrook and Honiton train stations

Two busy Devon railway stations, Cranbrook and Honiton, are to benefit from the installation of Co Bikes electric bike stations, allowing for seamless – and zero carbon – onward commuting options.

Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust invests £7 million in new energy technology 

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust (RD&E) is set to reduce its energy costs by £800,000 a year, following a £7 million investment in sustainable energy measures.

Roman road restored at Redrow’s Romansfield development

A local groundworker has reconstructed an original Roman road at Redrow’s Romansfield development in Okehampton, Devon.

In 2018, archaeologists from independent commercial consultancy AC archaeology working with Redrow on the development before its launch discovered what they thought to be the most south-westerly Roman town in Britain.

The local archaeologists found the foundation trenches and post-holes of some 25 timber-constructed buildings situated either side of a well-preserved Roman road extending eastwards from a military fort.

East Devon District Council to progress plans for zero carbon growth

On 10 July at East Devon District Council’s Cabinet meeting, Councillors will consider how clean growth can be achieved in the west end of the district.

Cabinet will meet [LINK] to consider a long-standing plan to achieve zero carbon development in Cranbrook and the surrounding area, including the Exeter and East Devon Enterprise Zone.
