Exeter Community Alcohol Partnership (CAP) has won a national Reaching 18–25s Award in recognition of its pioneering work supporting young adults and improving safety across the city’s evening and night-time economy. The accolade was awarded by Community Alcohol Partnerships and the Exeter CAP team received the award at a ceremony held in the House of Commons on 2nd March 2026.

National care provider, Barchester Healthcare recently marked the start of their newest luxury care home build in Exeter, Cumberland Grange Care Home, which is under construction by Halsall by putting

Totnes residents go on hunger strike for climate

Two people will go on hunger strike in Totnes this week to demand swift and decisive government action on the climate and ecological emergency.

Colin Moore, 65, and Stefan Karpik, 70, will fast for several days starting Monday 18 November, as part of an international hunger strike coordinated by Extinction Rebellion (XR).

Colin, a retired teacher from Totnes, plans to strike for five days. Refusing all food is a serious matter, he said:

People across Devon are being asked for their views on 5G, as Devon County Council launches a “call for evidence” on the technology.

The County Council’s Corporate Infrastructure and Regulatory Services Scrutiny Committee is investigating 5G as part of a spotlight review.

Although the County Council has no current plans to make use of 5G in its ICT and is not involved with planning applications for mobile infrastructure, it is running an investigation in response to local concern and wants to hear from people to help inform its findings.

AROUND 50 guests attended a coffee morning at the Mint Methodist Church in Exeter on Saturday, November 16, to "Ask a Muslim" anything they wanted to about Islam and Muslims.
