New children's library opens in Exeter

After months of building work, the new children’s library in Exeter is now open to the public. The Clore Children's Library features a brand-new sensory area, a floating mezzanine and activities for older children. Keepers at Living Coasts, Torquay’s coastal zoo, had to do a double-take recently when they discovered that European common lobster Homer had moulted for the first time in two years.

Landmark in construction of Exeter’s pioneering Extra Care scheme

Councillors have celebrated the progress in constructing the UK’s first super energy efficient Extra Care scheme, which is on schedule to open in Exeter later this year.

The main structure is now complete for the development off Topsham Road, which will be the first Passivhaus standard Extra Care facility in the country.

An Exeter College student is set to jet across the Atlantic to study with Harvard University after being offered a place with the world-renowned Ivy League university.

Cranbrook Education Campus students act against anti-social parking

Primary pupils from Cranbrook Education Campus (CEC) silently protested against anti-social parking outside their school gates last week.
