The Devon County Show is proud to announce the launch of its first‑ever Community Growing Hub, a major new feature for 2026 designed to inspire visitors of all ages to get growing, get gardening, and get connected. Two thousand meal boxes are being delivered to families with young children this Easter holiday in an initiative designed to help those who are struggling during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Devon County Council initiative, called 'The Goodie Box', sees ingredients and simple recipe ideas delivered to families’ front doors this week.

Included within the Goodie Box are ingredients for families to make:

  • Sweet potato curry
  • Super cheesy macaroni (vegan alternative - Taste of the Mediterranean pasta)

Phonics with Robot Reg classes set to reopen

Parents can breathe a sigh of relief next week as baby and children’s classes finally reopen after the most recent lockdown.

Exeter Ramblers reveal hidden walking trails of Exeter

The Exeter and District Ramblers have produced a collection of hand-picked trails to encourage Exeter residents to get outside and discover a new side to their city.

The collection has been published as a book called Walking Around Exeter, with contributions from different members of the group and tested for accuracy and clarity. The 16 routes in the collection range from 2.5 to 7 miles in length, and are suitable for all ages and abilities.

With great disappointment and sadness, the volunteer committee that organises the renowned annual Exeter Craft Festival has announced that the Festival will not take place this year.

Having postponed their annual concert in Exeter Cathedral last July due to Covid, the Amadeus Orchestra is delighted to announce that it will now take place in July 2021.

Principal conductor Philip Mackenzie says: “As an orchestra, we have been silent since February 2020 when we performed in the House of Commons and we are very excited by the prospect of performing once again. It is very fitting that our first post-Covid concert will be held in Exeter Cathedral as this is the city where the orchestra was founded in 1990.”

Work starts on Marsh Barton rail station

Work has started on the construction of a new railway station at Marsh Barton in Exeter.

The station, which will feature two platforms, will be located near the Energy from Waste plant on the eastern edge of Marsh Barton.
