NHS opens online Covid-19 vaccination bookings for 12-15-year-olds

Parents can now book covid-19 vaccinations online for their 12-15 year old children with appointments available as soon as this weekend, the NHS has announced.

People will be able to go online and check the National Booking Service to see if their local site has appointments to vaccinate children and young people, as the NHS covid-19 vaccination programme continues at pace.

A new fitness class for plus-size people has secured funding to run a low cost pilot in Exeter.

Phat Health was set up to help people who are told to lose weight and get more active but don't feel comfortable in mainstream gyms and fitness classes. Trading Standards has been nationally acclaimed for a ground-breaking project which focuses on farmers' mental health and strengthens links with rural communities.

The Heart of the Southwest Trading Standards Service (HotSW TS) covers Devon, Plymouth, Somerset, and Torbay and was awarded the Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) Hero Award for best project in London this week.

Food waste collections about to start as phased roll-out gets underway

The long-awaited roll-out of food waste collections in Exeter is about to begin, the City Council has announced.

The roll-out will begin with 1,300 households in Alphington having the weekly service added to their waste and recycling collections – starting on 4 November - before the initiative is introduced gradually across the whole of the city.
