Cranbrook to Host First eat:Festival Food and Drink Event

eat:Festivals will be hosting a food and drink festival in Cranbrook on Sunday 13 September 2026.

The festival will be happening in the heart of the town, on and surrounding the Tillhouse Road. eat:Festivals are a small social enterprise who have been delivering one day food and drink festivals in towns across the south-west for over 13 years. Builders merchant cements jobs boost in Exeter

More than 30 jobs are set to be created in Exeter after a major UK builders merchant revealed that it will open a new branch next year.

Selco Builders Warehouse is due to open its new store on Filmer Way in Exeter in April.

It will be Selco’s 73rd branch in the UK,and continues its ongoing nationwide expansion plan.

Recruitment will cover a wide variety of positions, with virtually all the jobs expected to be given to people from the local area.

A year in the planning, the Connaught@Christmas illuminated trail is finally ablaze with a delightful atmosphere created by thousands of colourful LED lights.

Although the first night was cancelled due to extreme high winds from Storm Barra, the lighting, structures and marquee escaped the ravages of the storm, allowing the event to go ahead on the second night. Ticket holders were refunded and most immediately rebooked for another day.

Exmouth-based Krispies wants to expand and has its eye on a former betting shop in the suburb of Exeter.

The first corporate esports festival for the whole of the South West is taking place in Exeter next year, organised by Tech South West in partnership with Exeter College.

Esports is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, with a global revenue of over $1bn and an audience of 474m in 2021, according to Newzoo.
