Cranbrook to Host First eat:Festival Food and Drink Event

eat:Festivals will be hosting a food and drink festival in Cranbrook on Sunday 13 September 2026.

The festival will be happening in the heart of the town, on and surrounding the Tillhouse Road. eat:Festivals are a small social enterprise who have been delivering one day food and drink festivals in towns across the south-west for over 13 years. Exeter-based broadband company, Jurassic Fibre, has helped raise money for Devon charity Hospiscare by helping them swap Christmas trees for cash.

The award-winning telecoms company, which is currently delivering gigabit connectivity to overlooked communities across the South West, supported Hospiscare by volunteering staff members and vans to assist in the charity’s Christmas Tree Recycling fundraiser.

A new competition is challenging school, college and university students around Exeter to discover and share the stories of lesser known LGBTQ+ scientists, technologists, engineers, mathematicians and medics.

Ahead of LGBTQ+ history month in February, the Queer Science Competition (QSC), was launched on 24 January by PRISM Exeter – in association with the University of Exeter, Intercom Trust, Exeter College, Devon Schools Leadership Services and Exeter Science Centre.

The University of Exeter has announced that Quentin Woodley is to be the new Chair of Council, the University’s governing body, and Pro-Chancellor with effect from 1 August 2022.

STAFF at The Swan in Bampton are celebrating this week after being named for the sixth year running as one of the top 50 gastropubs in the country (January 2022).

FoodCycle , the charity that aims to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past for every community, is in urgent need of volunteers. This month, FoodCycle will invest in a national recruitment campaign to try to entice more people to join them.
