Guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon are the latest acts heading to the south Devon countryside for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

The bands are joining the line-up for seven-time GRAMMY Award winning Canadian / American artist Alanis Morissette ’s headline show with special guest musical powerhouse Skunk Anansie at TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham on Friday June 26.

Waste firm invests £290K to strengthen the South West’s circular economy

In a bid to strengthen the South West’s circular economy and to tackle throwaway culture, a leading waste management and recycling company has invested £290,000 in machinery and facilities at its specialist plastics reprocessing centre.

DCW, the Zero to Landfill firm based in Exeter, has introduced a new 10,000ltr fountain blender, an extruder machine and a mezzanine to its Marsh Barton plastics recycling and reprocessing plant, DCW Polymers. TRISTAN Besley from Newton Abbot has joined a Devon-based family-run printed-packaging company as its Technical Sales Support (August 2022).

The 18-year-old has joined his family business Newton Print Ltd after completing his studies and will be assisting the sales team as well as creating the samples and designs customers’ request.

Seaside entertainment featuring puppets, magic and songs will return to Devon’s beaches, promenades and quaysides this summer thanks to apprenticeships helping to keep traditional performance forms alive and well through training emerging local artists.

Tesco shoppers in Devon have been given a big thank-you after providing nearly 30,000 meals to support local food banks and frontline charities.

The 29,966 collected across the county between June 30 and July 2 was part of a total of 1.3 million meals donated by generous Tesco shoppers across the UK in large stores, with an additional 20 percent top-up added by Tesco.

A Devon health and wellbeing charity is seeking ‘chatty’ volunteers to come on board once a week to provide friendly conversation, information and support to local people on the number 57 bus between Exmouth and Exeter. Talented twins whose music is championed by Coldplay have graduated from the same course, at the same university, on the same day.

Theo and Bertie Pedrick decided to study together at the University of Exeter so they could pursue their music career.
