Alanis Morissette joined by Pale Waves and The Big Moon for Devon date

Guitar indie-pop band Pale Waves and Mercury-nominated The Big Moon are the latest acts heading to the south Devon countryside for the county’s biggest music event this summer.

The bands are joining the line-up for seven-time GRAMMY Award winning Canadian / American artist Alanis Morissette ’s headline show with special guest musical powerhouse Skunk Anansie at TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham on Friday June 26.

Devon and Cornwall police chief preferred candidate revealed

The preferred candidate to become chief constable of Devon and Cornwall Police has been named as Will Kerr OBE, a deputy chief constable in Scotland.

In selecting DCC Kerr, police and crime commissioner Alison Hernandez described him as “an exceptional strategic leader” and said his “passion for the job and the high standards he holds himself and others to shone through” in the recruitment process.

The post of chief constable became vacant following the retirement of Shaun Sawyer last month.

Mr Sawyer had been in the role for more than a decade.

Temporary reduced timetable for West of England Line from Monday

From Monday 5 September, South Western Railway (SWR) will be introducing a temporary reduced timetable on the West of England line.

This revised timetable will enable SWR to operate a resilient service for customers after an Emergency Speed Restriction was put in place between Gillingham in Dorset and Tisbury in Wiltshire by Network Rail engineers.

Sovereign Housing Association has joined the Black History Month 365 Fund which provides grants of up to £500 for events, activities and projects which celebrate Black History.

Do you know this man? Police appeal after Exeter burglary

Police investigating a burglary have released footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the incident.

It happened at Exeter Fried Chicken, St Thomas Centre, Cowick Street, between 1.30am and 1.40am on Monday 4 July.

Property and cash were taken, along with a charity collection tin.

Police investigating the incident would like to identify the man in the footage as they believe he may be able to assist with their enquiries.
