Second stage announced for TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham

An exclusive second stage is being added to Devon’s biggest music event this summer – with a host of extra artists joining the line-up.

TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham takes place across the weekend Thursday June 25 to Sunday June 28 with headline shows from Teddy Swims , Alanis Morissette and Lewis Capaldi.

And now additional artists will take to the festival’s all-new Castle Green Stage , performing from 2.30pm each day as gates open as well as after each headline artist.

SW colleges to host region’s biggest esports festival

The region’s biggest esports event has returned for its second year, as five colleges announce a partnership with Tech South West.

Esports, or competitive gaming, is one of the fastest growing industries in the world, with a global revenue of over $1bn and an audience of 474m in 2021, according to Newzoo.

Avian influenza: Prevention Zone declared across Great Britain

Following an increase in the number of detections of avian influenza (bird flu) in wild birds and on commercial premises, the Chief Veterinary Officers from England, Scotland and Wales have declared an Avian Influenza Prevention Zone (AIPZ) across Great Britain to mitigate the risk of the disease spreading amongst poultry and captive birds.

This means that from midday on Monday 17 October , it will be a legal requirement for all bird keepers in Great Britain to follow strict biosecurity measures to help protect their flocks from the threat of avian flu.

The University of Exeter has installed over 300kw and 700 solar panels on the roof of its Harrison building at the Streatham Campus in Exeter, playing a crucial role in the University reaching its target of Carbon Net Zero by 2030 and supporting its Strategy 2030 to lead meaningful action against the climate emergency.

A medical student at the University of Exeter, who is also Miss Cardiff, has aligned her career path to developing a cure for alopecia after living with the condition for two years.

Millie-Mae, 19, was just about to compete in the 2019 Miss Wales final when she noticed a patch of hair loss on her head. Before she knew it, her hair would fall out in clumps while in the shower. After calling her GP, Millie-Mae was told that she has alopecia areata.
