Gandy Street is the place to be on the First Thursdays of the month this summer

First Thursdays is a new event you won’t want to miss.

From June to September, Gandy Street will come alive on the first Thursday of each month, with a festival atmosphere in the early evening.

The first event takes place on Thursday 4 June, 5–8pm. Expect late-night shopping, live music, street entertainment, extended opening hours at cultural venues and a cocktail trail. All your favourite businesses on Gandy Street and in the surrounding area will be open, including:

Exeter to Exmouth Bus service, Route 57 is doubled in frequency

Local bus operator Stagecoach South west has announced that the popular route 57 bus service has been doubled in frequency with buses now operating up to every 15 minutes, Monday to Saturday. Route 57 offers frequent and convenient connections between the city of Exeter with Topsham, Lympstone and the popular seaside town of Exmouth.

International Dawn Chorus Day takes place on Sunday 7 May 2023 and the RSPB is inviting you to wrap your ears around nature’s finest musical experience.

Wherever you live, this amazing festival of bird song (known as the Dawn Chorus) happens on your doorstep.

Devon & Exeter’s newest distillery is calling on people of the city to name their stills and make their mark in history.

Coastal Gin is the latest invention from Quayside Distillery, vacuum-distilled in the heart of Exeter on the historic quay, using locally grown botanicals.

Bottling up a true taste of Devon because of their specialised techniques, the futuristic stills behind Coastal Gin need a name, and the venue is asking locals to come up with a title that pays homage to their historic city.

This year, thousands of people across the UK will strip off their clothes and stroll around the grounds of gorgeous gardens, stately homes and castles to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

Churches across the UK are being urged to take steps to prevent metal theft following a spate of incidents.

Girlguiding South West England have teamed up with Dartmoor Zoological Society to provide its members with a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a sleepover at Dartmoor Zoo. Over 500 girls, ranging from 7-year-old Brownies through to Guides, Rangers and Young Leaders are due to sleep over at the zoo across dates in May, June and October.
