Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

Rugby players were told some home truths about life after the game at a special event in Exeter last night. Retired professionals and business leaders mingled with stars of the future to hammer home the message that playing is not a career for life. The event was staged at luxury kitchen and bathroom showroom Sapphire Living Space, opposite Darts Farm, and organised by the Rugby Players' Association. Bailiffs to face stronger regulation

New reforms, banning Bailiffs and Councils from ‘heavy-handed behaviour’ when collecting debts, will come into force next April.

The reforms will prevent bailiffs from entering people’s homes at night or when only children are present as well as how and when they can take property.

Man arrested for Tiverton phoneshop burglary

An 18-year-old man has been arrested after a moible phone shop was burgled in Tiverton last week.

The Carphone Warehouse in Tiverton offered a £500 reward for information after a large number of phones were taken during the burglary. The shop was targeted by thieves in the early hours of Thursday 23 January 2014. Thieves gained entry to an empty property above the shop and broke through the floor into offices below. Sir Eric Dancer, the Lord Lieutenant of Devon, has been appointed President of the Devon County Agricultural Association, organisers of the Devon County Show (May 22-24). He succeeds the Hon. George Lopes DL.

Sir Eric was appointed Lord Lieutenant by Her Majesty the Queen in 1998. He is her official representative in the county of Devon and has organised many royal visits to the Devon County Show.

'Turnaround director' to leave NHS

The Chief Executive of the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust will leave the NHS next April.

Jac Kelly, leaves after 8 years as chief executive of the Trust coming into the position as a turnaround director in 2006 to combat the trust’s financial issues.

Under Kelly the Trust has returned a financial surplus for the last four years, despite making £12million a year in efficiency savings.

The Trust will begin seeking a new Chief Executive but in the interim, Andy Robinson, Director of Finance and Deputy Chief Executive, will cover the role.

Teaching Trust helps Jurassic Coast project get creative

The Dorset and East Devon Jurassic Coast Team has been awarded £75,000 from the Primary Science Teaching Trust.

This money will help primary schools across the region to develop resources for the new national curriculum, due to be launched in September.

The new Big Jurassic Classroom (BJC) project focuses on recruiting teachers to act as ambassadors for the Jurassic Coast and on three particular areas of work; teacher placements with scientists, teacher training days and creating resources for schools.
