Children’s Hospice South West launches Incredible Hike coast path challenge!

Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) are calling for people to lace up their walking boots and take on the Incredible Hike in May 2024.

The charity’s Incredible Hike challenge is a guided 3-day walk from Friday 17 May to Sunday 19 May 2024, totalling 60 miles along the South West Coast Path from Minehead to Croyde.

With only 50 places available, this is going to be a sell-out event.

Participants can return to walk year on year to complete the entire 630 miles of National Trail, while raising money for children and young people living with life-limiting...

NHS Devon’s trailblazing work to tackle domestic abuse and sexual violence has received national recognition, beating stiff competition from across the country to win in the national NHS parliamentary awards.

The NHS Devon team were nominated by three local MPs – Ben Bradshaw, Simon Jupp and Richard Foord.

Rough sleepers in Devon will have better access to mental health support thanks to an innovative project which sees mental health, primary care, social care, housing services and the voluntary and charity sectors working together.

The project has been launched as a one-year pilot, led jointly by Devon Partnership NHS Trust (DPT) and Livewell Southwest CIC (LSW), who provide mental health services across Devon. School Recycling Workshops Continue to Thrive

More than 500 pupils across East Devon have taken part in workshops about the importance of recycling, thanks to an initiative by East Devon District Council (EDDC) and their waste contractor Suez.

Led by Suez’s Recycling Officer, Jess Prosser, the school children have enjoyed games and presentations highlighting the waste hierarchy and the value in reusing and recycling material.

During the past year Jess has spoken to 525 primary school pupils who have enjoyed a series of activities to sort materials and learn how and where they can reuse material.
