Taylor Wimpey Exeter donates over 3,000 winter essentials to homeless people and £10,000 to charity

Taylor Wimpey Exeter has donated 3,011 hats, gloves, scarves and socks to homelessness charity, CRASH, through collections from across the region.

As part of its Wrap Up Warm campaign, the leading homebuilder has donated over 14,000 much needed winter essentials to 24 homelessness centres in England, Scotland and Wales in support of its national charity partners - CRASH, St Mungo’s and CRISIS.

South West pupils are taking part in an essential new University of Exeter programme designed to give them specialist support as they prepare to go on to higher education.

The Bridges to Higher Education scheme aims to widen participation and access to university. Teenagers are being given expert advice on student finance, studying for degrees and degree apprenticeships, their post-18 options, and choosing a degree course.

CBD and vaping specialists Evapo is opening a new store in the City's Fore Street on Friday (28 July).

Traffic cameras could be installed on Wonford Road

Cameras could be installed along a road in Exeter where some drivers are still ignoring ‘no entry’ signs.

A filter was installed on Wonford Road in 2021, permitting access only for buses and bicycles to help improve conditions for them, but councillors were told this week that many other vehicles are still driving through.

Speaking at an Exeter highways and traffic orders meeting on Monday [24 July], highways officer James Bench said the authority is “aware of ongoing complaints regarding contraventions at this location.”
