The owner of Exeter's Hole In The Wall pub told the Daily it could be three months before it can reopen.

George Sloan (pictured) said the blaze had caused severe damage which was compounded by the work undertaken by firefighters to make the building safe.

He is now talking to companies about what will be a 'huge' clean up operation.

It is believed the fire started at the rear of the building at around 4am yesterday (Friday) but it's not thought to be suspicious.

George said a state-of-the-art kitchen he had installed costing tens of thousands of pounds had...

A planning application for Orchard Solar Park, a 7.5 MW solar development at Shepherd’s Farm, near Clyst St. Mary, has been submitted to East Devon District Council by Wiltshire-based Solstice Renewables.

The solar park is adjacent to Crealy Great Adventure Park and would supply renewable electricity directly to Crealy, enabling the local family visitor attraction to benefit from lower cost electricity and improve its sustainability.

It would generate enough renewable electricity to power approximately 2,250 average households, and save an estimated 3,250 tonnes of carbon...

Calling all Rolling Stones and Art Fans!

Currently touring across Europe, The Rolling Stones are as popular as ever - some 52 years on from playing their first gigs in London in 1962.

Guitarist Ronnie Wood, however, has two passions - music and art – and over the years he has been lucky enough to mix the two.

Martin Bell, Retail Manager of Devon Air Ambulance Trust said “We have been donated a limited edition framed giclee print of Ronnie Wood’s 'Rip This Joint' which embodies the power and energy of Mick Jagger and the group. To receive such a generous gift really does mean a great deal.”

He added “We’ve...

A very fishy donation to Devon Air Ambulance Trust

Devon Air Ambulance Trust (DAAT) regularly receives slightly unusual donations from the community but this week sees one of the most unusual. Heléna Holt explained “We received a call from Mat Mander, Deputy Chief Officer of the Devon & Severn Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority (D&SIFCA) recently, who advised they were making a donation of £792.38 to the Charity.” She added “This fantastic donation came from the sale of the mullet seized from an illegal net, found at the mouth of the River Erme in South Devon. This was as part of a joint operation between the D&SIFCA...
