Exeter Foundation charities selected

The organisations which raise money during Exeter Chiefs’ home games have been selected for the new rugby season.

This year, 19 organisations will have the chance to assist in the coordination and collection of the funds at Sandy Park. These funds are ring-fenced specifically for these organisations and are distributed at the end of the season at the Exeter Foundation annual presentation dinner.

The organisations and charities selected by the Exeter Foundation are all Exeter-based and range from Vranch House, an independent day school and clinical centre for children with physical difficulties, to Exeter Northcott Theatre, a 460 seat arts venue set in the University of Exeter campus and Headway Devon, an independent local charity, dedicated to supporting people with brain injuries and their families.

Exeter Foundation Trustee and CEO of Exeter Rugby Club, Tony Rowe OBE, said: “the Exeter Foundation is committed to distributing funds raised to a wide range of causes and projects in Exeter.

“It’s always tough narrowing down the organisations which fundraise on match-days, but we believe that the 19 chosen are a fair representation of the excellent charitable work which goes on in and around Exeter.”

As well as the 19 designated organisations, anyone who meets the Foundation’s criteria is able to apply for funds. The criteria involve the funds being needed for tangible projects within the greater Exeter area, which demonstrates one of the aims of the Foundation.

To build on this, the Exeter Foundation has teamed up with the Exeter Express and Echo to launch its £50,000 Legacy fund. The Exeter Foundation Legacy is aiming to match-fund an existing project, which needs additional funding to be achieved.
