Nationwide and Dementia UK’s free face-to-face clinics are returning to Nationwide’s Newton Abbot, Plymouth, Barnstaple and Exmouth, branches this September, offering specialist support in a safe, comfortable and private space for people to discuss any aspect of dementia.

Hosted by Dementia UK’s Admiral Nurses, the clinics are open to anyone impacted by dementia, offering life-changing support to families and individuals in the area. The clinics will take place throughout September, and appointments can be booked via Dementia UK’s website here .

Patients at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital are benefiting from a brand new CPR (Cardiopulmonary resuscitation) machine thanks to local charity HeartSWell.

The £10,000 AutoPulse machine has been donated by the Plymouth based organisation to give patients a better chance of surviving a cardiac arrest.

AutoPulse is a portable cardiac support pump that provides automated chest compressions to keep blood pumping around your body if you have a cardiac arrest.

Jamie Oliver’s popular group of restaurants has 35 outlets across the UK, but the new restaurant in Princesshay will be a first for the West Country.

Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg has helped to win almost £120,000 for three charities that support victims of sexual abuse. Police and Crime Commissioner Tony Hogg will relay public questions to the Chief Constable at a ‘new look’ performance and accountability meeting this week. It will take place on Wednesday (24 September) at Devon County Council headquarters in Exeter (2pm). The meeting is open to the public and will be webcast live on the internet. Energy plan for community groups

A new project to support the growing community energy movement is being launched today by Regen SW funded nationally by the Esmée Fairbairn Foundation with additional support being made available in Devon by Devon County Council.

The initiative will support communities to generate, own and save energy.

Customers of Exeter's The Real Food Store and Pickle Shack pop-up restaurant regulars were indulged with three courses of local fare following the successful collaboration of the two businesses.

The Real Food Store is a community owned store and cafe consisting of over 300 members, staff and board members.
