Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

Vandals destroy Crediton war memorial wreaths

Police are appealing for witnesses following an act of vandalism on the war memorial in Crediton.

Police were called at 1.15am on Monday 10 November after a member of the public witnessed two youths setting fire to the wreaths placed at the war memorial.

The two suspects are described as aged around 14-15, one male and one female, both wearing hooded tops and were seen running from scene towards the park behind the memorial.

Local officers plus a dog unit conducted a search of the area but the suspects weren’t located.

It's been 50 years since the THINK! road safety campaign was launched and road safety officers in Devon are reminding people of the dangers of driving while under the influence of alcohol.

In Devon during 2012 and 2013 there were a total of 3,529 recorded injury collisions. Of these, 148 collisions, including seven deaths, were as a result of road collisions where alcohol was recorded as being a contributory factor.

Medical imaging team receive ISAS accreditation

The Medical Imaging Team at the Royal Devon and Exeter hospital have been recognised for providing high quality radiology services to patients by achieving the UKAS Imaging Service Accreditation (ISAS) .

They have become one of just 16 NHS Trusts across the country to have been granted the official accreditation by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) on behalf of the Royal College of Radiologists and the College of Radiographers.

County Council spending cuts to continue

There will be no let-up in the savings that local councils have to find over the next few years no matter who wins the General Election, the leader of Devon County Council is warning.

John Hart says the authority has already found savings of £128 million following cuts in Government funding of 60 per cent in real terms from 2011 to 2016.

But he’s now warning that further cuts of £50 million will have to be made in the next financial year with £34 million the year after.

Storms and heavy rain to hit Devon

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning as we start the new week.

Periods of rain and strong winds will affect the South West later today (Monday), with the rain becoming particularly heavy at times on Tuesday before clearing during Wednesday morning.
