Darts Farm is celebrating a remarkable milestone - 55 years since of ‘Darts Farm’ and they are celebrating with a three-day Summer Festival from 12th to 14th June 2026.

One of Devon’s most stunning beaches has received some tender loving care from a group of community volunteers.

Corinna Stephens organised the event at Ladram Bay, on the Jurassic Coast between Sidmouth and Budleigh Salterton in East Devon, because of her love of the beach there.

She organised the clean-up on Saturday (Mar 28) as part of the Surfers against Sewage national Big Spring Beach Clean programme, which saw volunteers out on 150 beaches across the country.

There are just over two weeks left to enter NHS Northern, Eastern and Western Devon Clinical Commissioning Group’s ‘Picture Your Health’ photography and picture competition.

The theme of the competition is ‘healthy people, living healthy lives, in healthy communities’, so if you are doing something healthy with your family this Easter weekend, why not take a photograph showing what health in Devon means to you?

Tim and Vickie raise money to help bereaved parents make memories Tim and Vickie Hamilton, from Doddiscombsleigh, have donated £2350 to the Maternity Unit at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital to help other bereaved parents make memories with their babies. Tim and Vickie sadly lost their third child, Cameron, when he was stillborn in September 2013. After doctors were unable to find Cameron’s heartbeat, Vickie became extremely unwell and spent time in Intensive Care and on the Labour Ward in the hospital’s ‘Heartsease’ bereavement room. Nurse recruitment open day

THE Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust is hoping the success of its nurse recruitment open days continues when it holds its latest event in Sidmouth later this month.

The Trust is looking for experienced and newly-qualified Band 5 nurses to bolster the teams at its community hospitals in East Devon.

Seaton continues to thrive

Last week’s meeting of all partners involved in Seaton’s regeneration welcomed the progress being made while expressing commitment to continue to drive the town’s regeneration forward.

The Board welcomed the new manager of Seaton Jurassic, Mike Ruiter, and heard that construction at The Underfleet site was on schedule for the July opening of the first hub including the cafe and shop.

The final interpretation plans have been agreed so installation can begin as soon as the building work is complete.

Exeter golf course plans finalised

The finalised plans for the golf course alterations are now available at Exeter Golf and Country Club.

Following some weeks of consultation with the golf members, the Board have approved the plans of the work to be carried out over the next six months.

Golf course architect, Tom MacKenzie of MacKenzie Ebert and Exeter Golf and Country Club have appointed experienced golf course construction company 1st Golf to carry out the course alterations.

Waves sculpture set for Fisherman’s Gap

Consent has beengiven for the erection of two sculptured waves and interpretive pillars at Fisherman’s Gap, Seaton, that will form one of a series of local meeting and information points to promote and inform the public about Seaton Jurassic.

The other information points will be at Axmouth Harbour, on the Wetlands and at Seaton Hole. Their purpose is to extend the reach of the centre into the town and along the Jurassic Coast and are key to reaping the benefits of Seaton Jurassic by increasing footfall in the town, on the coast and in the Axe Estuary.

Police to keep summer watch on Dartmoor

Devon and Cornwall Police is teaming up with partner agencies to tackle crime across Dartmoor over Easter and throughout the summer.

Local officers will be running Moorwatch, a multi-agency operation which aims to prevent and disrupt criminals operating in isolated rural areas, particularly at car park and beauty spots surrounding the national park.

The moor historically sees a seasonal rise in crime in the summer months with an influx of visitors to the region.
