Darts Farm is celebrating a remarkable milestone - 55 years since of ‘Darts Farm’ and they are celebrating with a three-day Summer Festival from 12th to 14th June 2026.

People all over Devon are putting their trainers, shoes and boots on and taking to the streets and pathways of their towns and villages in celebration of Devon Walking for Health Week from 13th-19th April.

East Devon forms partnership with River Cottage

Dove Tree House in Exeter, Devon has won an award for being a top recommended care home in the South West.

The home came 9th out of 2,318 homes in the South west area. The top twenty South West homes received an award from the leading guide to care homes carehome.co.uk

The award was based on the home’s recommendations from their residents, plus friends and relatives of residents.

Exeter’s very special mini-indoor festival GemFest 2015 was a huge success – raising money for Hospiscare and lots of smiles from happy festival goers.

GemFest featured an afternoon of family fun at the Exeter Phoenix Centre, with lots of music, games, face painting and Easter eggs, with great music from Teens Support Hospiscare.

The evening saw an amazing line up of local talent featuring an eclectic mix of music, comedy, poetry, DJ’s and more.

Anyone going to the south coast of Devon this May would be advised to be prepared for some swashbuckling as pirates will be everwhere; from Brixham to Plymouth, stopping off for a knees-up at Exmouth Rugby Club.

Call for more palliative care funding

Hospiscare provides palliative and end of life care for Exeter people but would like to do more if funding allowed.

The local charity was responding to a new report which says the UK's care system for dying patients with terminal illnesses is lacking and needs a major overhaul.

According to London School of Economics researchers, more than 100,000 people a year who would benefit from palliative care are not getting it.

Devon man donates pension to church project

Michael Gunn, a member of St Luke’s Church at Newton Poppleford, one of the first people to cash in his pension under the government’s reforms, has donated a sum of it to the church building repair fund.

Mr Gunn, 57, received his funds yesterday (April 7) under the new scheme allowing over 55s to cash in a defined-contribution pension fund. He will also pay for his daughter’s wedding and take his wife on a cruise.
