Darts Farm celebrates 55 years with Summer Festival

Darts Farm is celebrating a remarkable milestone - 55 years since of ‘Darts Farm’ and they are celebrating with a three-day Summer Festival from 12th to 14th June 2026.

The long weekend community celebrations include live music, from legendary local band Mad Dog Mcrea and The Luke Combs Experience, with a vibrant line-up of local talent.

Seaton Fire crews receive a presentation from Seaton District Lions Club of a £200 cheque to be used to aid Seaton’s Co-responder unit in the support of the local Community.

Mike Markham, Crew Manager said: “The local Lions do a lot of fund raising and good work in our community and often support local services with the proceeds of the fund raising events that they hold. Tiptoe through the Bluebells

Lovers of the spectacular annual display of bluebells at Holyford Woods near Colyford will be delighted to hear that Bluebell Day is back, thanks to Mr and Mrs Elsey at Holyford Farm.

The celebration of the woods will take place on Sunday 3 May, and will begin at 6am with a Dawn Chorus walk starting from the car park at the top of Seaton Down Hill, near Tower Services.

Other activities during the day will run between 11am and 4pm at Holyford Farm, and will include guided walks, wildlife activities, craft and plant stalls and delicious cream teas on the lawn.

Oh purse, where have you 'bin'?

A young visitor to Exmouth thought she had seen the last of her savings and treasured possessions when she threw some litter into a seafront rubbish bin – and her purse went in as well!

But the following day East Devon District Council was able to return the purse to a delighted Karis Atkins.

The town’s new ‘Big Belly’ bins have a rotating drawer front and the contents are compressed by a solar-powered ram. So there was no chance of Karis reaching into the bin to retrieve the lost purse.

SWH (South West Highways Ltd) has been praised for commemorating its 20th anniversary by undertaking a day of ‘community service’.

A multi-disciplinary contractor, SWH provides a full range of solutions from civil engineering and highway maintenance to build services for both the private and public sectors. Its employees will be undertaking generous acts of community service right across the county on 17th April to honour the company reaching a 20 year milestone.

New nursery for Exeter Cathedral School

Boys and girls at Exeter Cathedral School are getting ready to move into a brand new, state of the art, single storey nursery in May.
