Super slimmers in Heavitree, Exeter have lost a whopping 142 stone in weight so far this year – that’s a ton which is the equivalent of four baby elephant.

All together the members of the Heavitree Slimming World group are now 142 stone lighter than they were at the start of the year. Students and staff have returned from the first of a series of six trips to Ethiopia, in a scheme designed to share knowledge and experience.

Four Medical students and two postgraduates were among a team of ten to visit Wollega Medical School. There, the Cornwall-based students had the opportunity to teach their Ethiopian counterparts, as the team worked towards supporting local staff to set up a sustainable learning programme.

Police have arrested a man following an incident in East Devon where a schoolboy was approached by the driver of a van.

At around 8.30am on Wednesday 17 June a 13-year-old boy was approached by a man driving a white van, whilst walking to school, at Tipton Cross, on the Exmouth Road in West Hill.

The driver asked the boy if he wanted a lift and drove in front of him, before the boy ran off.

A local man, aged 25, was arrested this morning, Thursday 18 June, on the B3180 at Harps Lane in connection with this incident. He remains in custody at Heavitree Road police...
