Stagecoach South West has this year, strengthened its partnerships with Devon County Council and Exeter City Council in relation to the joint efforts to prevent and tackle antisocial behaviour in and around Exeter’s bus station, improving safety and the overall customer experience by providing greater visibility and linking its CCTV system to the city-wide network.

YMCA Exeter residents sign for Bristol City

Three men from YMCA Exeter have completed the Homeless FA training Centre programme at Bristol City Football. Nathan Tuley (22), John Oliver (20) and Rhys Feeney (19) found out about the Training Centre programme through YMCA Exeter, who provide Supported Accommodation for young homeless people.

East Devon residents are being invited to learn more about potential opportunities for creating new flood defences in Exmouth at a drop-in consultation, which is being held jointly by East Devon District Council, the Environment Agency (EA) and WSP Consulting Engineers on 20 May at Ocean Blue, Esplanade, Exmouth, from 3- 7pm.

Next Saturday, 16 May, Exeter Pride will kick off the Pride season in the UK - and it has just received National Lottery funding to help stage the event.

This will be the seventh Exeter Pride and it will be the biggest free celebration of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) communities the county has seen to date.

In addition to receiving more than £4,000 thanks to a National Lottery Awards for All grant, Exeter Pride has recently also become a registered charity.

Cub Scouts in Devon well and truly did their best to become the first owners of a re-launched police badge in Devon and Cornwall.

More than 30 Cub Scouts from Highweek and Kingskerswell studied personal safety and detective skills to earn the newly-restored Devon and Cornwall Police Cub Scout Badge.

The badge was first presented some years ago but was not being awarded very often. Now thanks to the support of Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer and Assistant Cub Scout Commissioner Sandra Johnson, the badge has been re-launched.

Exeter man seriously injured in collision

An Exeter man has sustained life-changing injuries in a collision which killed two people and left four others seriously injured.

The collision happened at around 10.15pm yesterday evening (Friday 8 May) on the A37 near Grimstone in Dorset.

Two vehicles were involved in a head-on collision – a blue Volkswagen Transporter van being driven by a man from Poole and a black Volkswagen Golf being driven by a man from Devon.

Two people – a 25-year-old woman from Bridport and a 45-year-old man from Poole – have died. Their next of kin have been informed and the coroner...
