Live music fans are set for another celebration of amazing entertainment in the Devon countryside as TK Maxx presents Live At Powderham confirms its return for 2026.

Following its debut outing at the historic country estate this July, which saw headline performances from Duran Duran and Basement Jaxx, Live Nation’s Cuffe and Taylor are now planning for a bigger and better event next summer with plans to unveil the first 2026 headliner in the coming weeks.

The biggest full price Fat Face store in the UK will open its doors in Princesshay, Exeter on Saturday 17 October after extensive refurbishment and expansion programme.

Wayne Pearce, Princesshay Centre Director, says: “The new Fat Face in Princesshay will be the biggest full price store in the UK and we are looking forward to seeing the refurbishment and its new and improved layout. Sea turtles face plastic pollution peril

A new global review led by the University of Exeter that set out to investigate the hazards of marine plastic pollution has warned that all seven species of marine turtles can ingest or become entangled in the discarded debris that currently litters the oceans.

Five Nations Parade to make its way through Exeter

The spectacular Exeter Rugby Five Nations Parade will make its way through Exeter city centre tomorrow (Saturday 10 October).

The Parade will assemble on Cathedral Green, before leaving at 1.15pm to process along the High Street to the Fanzone in Northernhay Gardens.

A choreographed finale moment will take place in the Fanzone before the start of the Samoa v Scotland match at 2.30pm.

The parade is themed on the cultural traditions of the five nations visiting Exeter for the Rugby World Cup: Italy, Tonga, Namibia, Georgia and Romania.

Parish and town councils to be invited to beach huts consultations

In a move to progress the management of one of East Devon’s most prized facilities – its beach huts and chalets - councillors at Wednesday’s (7 October) cabinet meeting voted in as a matter of urgency a revised set of beach hut proposals, which emphasised the need to avoid a one-size fits all policy and which will focus on involving town and parish councils on future consultation. Recommended rent increases for 2016/2017 will reflect market value but other rental changes will be made after further consultation has been carried out with town and parish councils.

Rugby World Cup 2015 continues to grip the nation with over half a million local and international fans enjoying the Official Fanzones up and down the country to watch live matches and enjoy the excitement of the Tournament.

Leading local advice charity, Exeter Citizens Advice Bureau, today publishes its advice trend statistics for September 2015.

Clients with urgent, or priority debts, owed an average of £6,088.76 to their creditors, an increase of 93%, or £2942.28 per client. Urgent debts include things like mortgage, rent and council tax.

National Real Vanilla Day is coming to Exmouth on October 17 when a host of cookery experts will show what can be done with the exotic flavour.

District Council consults local people for their views on the creation of a new West Hill parish council

Hotel donates TVs to Foundation charities

A popular Exeter hotel has donated television sets to a charity fundraising body, after undergoing a major refurbishment.

The Mercure Exeter Southgate underwent a £2.5m re-furbishment earlier this year. The hotel donated 20 television sets, which were previously in rooms, to the Exeter Foundation.

As a fundraising body, the Exeter Foundation offered the televisions to its member charities on a first come first served basis. The televisions were snapped up within 2 hours by a number of different charities.
